need some help/ideas

Guys i need some help/ideas. I have a 67 gtx clone-383 .30 over keith black hyper utetic pistons comp 280 cam edelebrock rpm performer intake holley 750 doublepumper and a hughes 2800 stall coverter. what gear would i need to run im the 1/8th to see a high 7 sec? should i try a little nitrous as well?

I would run a 4.30 in it. It should be down in the 7.30 range with a decent 3800-4000 stall converter with slicks.

I forgot to mention that I had the heads shaved down and over sized valves with hardens seats and triple comp springs. Compression is a 10-2-1 ratio.

I dont think you will get near the 7.30 area as thats 11.50's. I would think more like high 7's unless you use some nitrous. How tall of a tire are you running ? Ron

I agree. You are probably looking at low to mid 8's with a 4:57. If you decide to inject nitrous, make sure you have consistent fuel pressure. Best of Luck to you!

4.56 gear would get ytou close but you'll be a little shy of your goal.imo.

I helped a fellow over here with a 67' Satellite it was a .030 over 383. hydraulic purple shaft, trw slugs with a torker/800 holley, .430 gears, 3800 hughes converter. With some tuning it ran a best of 7.36. It also had 9" slicks. It is a very consistant car.

when i first was getting my car running(67 Satty), i went 8.0's with a early 70's RV 413 prolly(8.25to1) if it was lucky..with a 484 MP cam and a 3500 stall conv. with a 30 inch tall slick and 4.10 gear. my car was a bit lighter then as i didn't have the interior finished and a few other things..still had to be somewhere around 3600lb. now it runs 7 teens and weighs 3675...do you know what your car weighs?..i agree with whats been said you prolly will want 4.56's..as long as your NOT gonna spray it..and if you don't spray it, i have my doubts that it will go in the 7's. i'm guessing 8.0's to 8.20's. NOW if you are gonna spray it i would use 4.10's. i guess it sorta depends on how much spray your gonna use..i would think i 150 shot would get you close to your goal. GOOD LUCK

I wouldn't recommend running too much Nitrous on those KB "Hyper-Explosive" slugs.... Pretty good pistons, but I would recommend forged only for Nitrous..IMO
