So short story with no pics(yet I know This thread is worthless without pics lol) But you'll have to forgive me I made the deal on this car without my camera on me.
Talking with a racing buddy about how to make my car faster on the roundy round track, another friend of ours walks into his shop and starts talking about how to get this engine to turn over. So we all wander over and the car is a 1963 Belvedere, minimal rust(front fenders) and notice there is no solenoid for the starter so you can't spin it over.
So I asked him what the deal is with the car and apparently his sons friend had blown the slant 6 in his 64 valiant and was taking the slant out of the 63 for his car.
So I checked the slant over in the 63 and it seemed stuck to me(most slants I can spin by hand that one didn't budge) so I told them I've got two slants sitting in my garage at home(one rebuilt with only about a thousand kms on the rebuild-freebie!). To which he asks "whats it worth to ya?", So being the sly fox I am(not!) I asked him "whats the car worth to ya?" And being the straight shooter he is Shawn got on the phone and found out if the deal would work. And before you know it I've got a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere slant 6 pushbutton auto 4 door.
So the plan is pretty simple. paint it semigloss black with silver accents. Likely paint the doors up with my boss's performance parts store logo and depending on the mood I feel that day ether get the slant running(if it's not stuck) or toss in a 360 727 combo. ether way it's going to get a mild restoration(fixing the small bits of rust, doing a nice paintjob, redoing all the small trim bits(doorhandles, headlight bezels, taillight bezels, mirrors etc. all in black chrome powdercoat) the interior also needs some attention, sheepskin covers that are molding lol the headliner is finished, steering wheel is completely gone(cracked) and there is an old wasp nest on the sunvisor lol
pics to come when I get the car.
