Check you vin number to see how originally equipped. Are there mounts present? Don't forget the tranny mount. Best bet is to get new mounts to match whatever engine you choose to prevent problems later on. Go here to check your vin: http://www.stockmopar.com/mopar-vin-decoder.php

Wasnt there another 71-up B-body small-to-big thread around here somewhere?

If the car had a small block (318,340,360) from the factory then the 383 will not fit, you will need a big block K-frame from another 66-72 B-body such as: (Satellite/Sebring/plus,Roadrunner,GTX,Charger) or you can buy shumacher mounts to make it work...If the car came with a big block(383-400-440) then your fine :)
B-body K-frames from 73-74 will not work in your car!!

Oh if you use the Schumacher mounts you will have to use a center sump oil pan to help clear the K-frame.

That's not correct the 71/72 v8 k frames are the same for big vs. small only hemi and /6 had different k's. We are not tied to the same rules as the 73/74 3rd and a half gens.
You do nee the big block motor mounts though. Very easy to get from mopar or mancini.
The real issue is your wiring, cooling, and rear end. It's not insurmountable though.

That's not quite true.
the 71/72 v8 k frame is the same for BB or SB. In 73 they started doing the different K members. He just needs the BB mounts. If it is sb car it will bolt right in. If its /6 then yes a different v8 member is needed.
The more difficult issue will be wiring, linkage, cooling, and whether the rear can handle it.
