71 sat need some helpmopar_buddie 07-05-2010, 05:58 PM hey everyone i just purchased a 71 satellite, no engine no trans id like to do a 383 with a 727. this is my first resto project so... sorry for the stupid questions. now im looking to save cash so im going to try to put it in and get it running my self my first question is will the engine bolt right up or will i have to get motor mounts is there a difference in the mounts from a sat to a RR Slimer71 07-05-2010, 10:06 PM mounts required unless it was a satty sebring big block.. Best bet is to get new mounts to match whatever engine you choose to prevent problems later on. It's not insurmountable though. 71383bee 07-12-2010, 10:56 PM That's not quite true. the 71/72 v8 k frame is the same for BB or SB. In 73 they started doing the different K members. He just needs the BB mounts. If it is sb car it will bolt right in. If its /6 then yes a different v8 member is needed.
