Rear valance 71-4 question

My buddy has pics of his original 73 RR from back in the day. It has semi-circle cutouts for the tips in the rear valance - swears it's all original and says he has seen one other 73 withe the same. We're thinking they may have installed "leftover" rear valances from 72 ? Anyone have thoughts or seen this before ? I can't find another on the internet anywhere (yet).

My bud has an odd one as well, a 72 satellite with a 73-74 Power buldge hood,looks bad ass.Never ever seen another.A hood from 73-74 will not fit on a 71-72 car and this buldge was not cut off a hood and put on a stock 71-72 hood.
