Welcome to the site, was that car already on the island when you found it?, very kool `72.

RRGTX72
08-23-2010, 12:17 PM
Yes this car has been on the island for quite a while. It was brought over several years ago by a military member. It went through 2 more owners before ending at my door. Now I think she has a home.

Just give me a call when I shall come over to help you rebuilt it, I will take the next flight ;-) Honolulu sounds much better than a winter in Sweden...
Good luck with the rebuilt!

Here is an update on the metal work done so far. I hope within the next couple of weeks we can be close to throwing some paint on her. Also, thanks Swede for the offer might take you up on it.

that's an amazing job on the do-it-yourself repair.

RRGTX72
09-03-2010, 11:44 PM
Oh no this is not a do-it-yourself. I wish I was that handy. I have a guy that was referred to me by the guy that sold me the car. So far, I am very proud of his work. He still has to grind down the welds and a little more prep work, but I couldn't be happier. Thanks everyone for the comments.

it's still a good job.alot of other people here can get good ideas from that, keep the pics coming.

I LOVE it ! GB5 is one of my favourite colours ; and 1972 is my favourite year for "B" bodies .

Please tell me that you're going to properly paint the motor in Chrysler Engine Blue with an orange air cleaner ...

I like seeing that its dash wasn't butchered for an after market radio ; a dash that's been hacked-up for a radio is one of my pet peeves !

Beautiful work thusfar .

72 Coronet, my plan is going back as original as possible with it. I wasn't sure what the correct color for 72 was, but if you say Chrysler Blue with Orange Dual Snorkel then that is what it will get. Thanks everyone for the comments. She is getting closer every week.

Hey thanks 72Satellite. I bought them off Ebay for like $230. My other ones just needed to be rebuilt, but I thought why skimp on repairing parts when you get new ones. I still have a long way to go. Around $10K more to be exact, but she will be worth it.

Great looking car! You have done an excellent job.

I went to high school in Wahiawa and the cars on the island always looked great. A friend of mine had a Dart Swinger that we used to run around the island in.

Give us a list of mods

From talking with the builder, here was a list of parts we went over.
I believe 906 heads
Milodon 7 qt oil pan
Headman Ceramic Coated headers pictured
Eldebrock 750 Carb
Eldebrock Performer Intake
MSD Ignition and Coil
Mopar Performance Valve Covers Pictured
Not sure what the cam is
Holley High Volume fuel pump

As you can see it is currently on the Dyno, so I am just waiting to here the numbers. He is estimated about 425-450. Just a real nice street motor if you know what I mean.
