I'd say very late like 74 - 79, most likely out of a cop car. The three digit number is probably the date code. In my experience the earlier blocks had a letter then the number. D440, E440; F440 and so on. Check the casting date on the side of the block by one of the motor mounts. It will be plain as day. Engines were usually installed in the cars the year after they were cast.
