do you guys free float (leave them 1/4 turn loose) them into the block or lock them down into the threads?

i snug and locktite as i dont want to stretch the stud before i fasten the heads or caps

How would one stretch a stud threading it into the block?

I think the free float method would be best. This would allow you to align the stud to the spot face on the head under the nut before torquing. A little pipe thread sealant on the threads for the blocks that hit water would be a good idea too.

FWIW

KB INDY and BAE all told me to snug/tighten them in NO LOCTITE, just wanted to double check what I was doing. Thanks anyway.

Damn. I'm a moron. Not Locite - I used the moly lube (little white packet) that comes with the ARP Studs. Sorry for the confusion.
