You need to keep us up to date - with pictures on this one! 5.7 hemi 11-15-2010, 10:06 PM This is gonna be a sweeeeet car when finished. Please post more pics of the progress. moparker 11-16-2010, 04:27 AM How did you get the rear window trim off? I've bought several tools and no luck. Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks Mike kdtjb 11-16-2010, 07:03 AM I have an ell shaped tool that is pointed on the end. I insert it under the trim on the outside, then follow along till I hit a clip. Then gently pull out on the trim lip and presto, it pops loose. O.K. maybe not presto, more like "you dirty little fricken fracken sob" All while staying cool calm and gentle. That applies to alot of things on a Mopar doesn't it. Al K 11-16-2010, 10:14 AM That's gonna be a fine ride;best of luck! But,I'm somewhat partial to those... Smart man;you posted pics!!! roadrunnerman 11-16-2010, 02:33 PM that motor is really going to make that car scoot down the road or strip. moparker 11-16-2010, 03:49 PM Could you post a pic of the tool? 5.7 hemi 11-16-2010, 10:25 PM This thread needs more pics, love the 62-65 cars, hint, hint!!! kdtjb 11-17-2010, 05:35 PM Painted the top. kdtjb 11-17-2010, 05:59 PM These are a couple of steering wheels I bought off of ebay. They both stated they where NOS. The red one is in fact NOS, while the tan one is not. There is some texture on 64 wheels that wore down rather quickly. I was still happy with both. The red one is going on my sport fury. Redpolara 11-17-2010, 07:48 PM The car's comming along nicely, I like the chrome dividers on the rim of the steering wheels.......was that a Plymouth thing?, i've never noticed them on the Dodges. kdtjb 11-17-2010, 08:50 PM The dividers was Plymouth in U.S.A. & Dodge in Canada. The Red one was a Canadian wheel, and I have the NOS Dodge emblem For it. carnalsupply 11-19-2010, 05:16 PM As a fellow '64 Fury builder all I can say is "I'm JEALOUS"! Your car is looking beautiful and I look forward to seeing more of the build. rapidtransitric 11-19-2010, 05:26 PM picked a real brute for an engine. looks good keep showing the progress kdtjb 11-24-2010, 06:20 AM some more progress 64BEL 11-24-2010, 07:34 AM Looks great! HitIt 11-24-2010, 10:26 AM Looks great! It makes me want to finally zolatone my trunk... it's just that the paint in there is so nice and new I almost can't do it!http://media.maps.com/images/JC/Dodge/112_1294.jpg Moose 11-27-2010, 10:03 AM Really nice work.. Look forward to watching it's progress kdtjb 01-29-2011, 07:39 PM I have done a little more on the Sport Fury. I decided to restore the heater myself. It was not too bad, I bought a rebuilt heater control valve & a insulation & seal kit. Cleaned and painted & put it back together. I also installed the carpet. kdtjb 01-29-2011, 07:41 PM And the carpet. 5.7 hemi 01-29-2011, 10:41 PM Very nice job!!!!! moparsteve636 01-30-2011, 09:29 AM PM sent 72 charger 02-28-2011, 09:22 PM Looks great! It makes me want to finally zolatone my trunk... it's just that the paint in there is so nice and new I almost can't do it!http://media.maps.com/images/JC/Dodge/112_1294.jpg Is zolatone what was originally put in the trunks of mopars? and where can you buy the stuff at? Ive been looking for something that has texture for my trunk. kdtjb 03-01-2011, 07:25 AM If you Google zolatone, one of the first companies will be global something, as I remember. They will have a tab for trunk paints. From there they will have years & manufactures. kdtjb 03-01-2011, 07:28 AM If you Google zolatone, one of the first companies will be global something, as I remember. They will have a tab for trunk paints. From there they will have years & manufactures. TCP Global, Thats it. 72 charger 03-02-2011, 10:11 PM TCP Global, Thats it. Thanks for the site. The only thing is they dont give much info on the stuff. And I cant find the exact color on the zolatone site. Do you need anything else besides the paint to prep it? Or just spray on as is. Also can you buy this stuff anywhere else like automotive stores? kdtjb 03-07-2011, 07:43 PM Go to www.tcpglobal.com and on the left side of the page drop down till you see trunk paints click on it, and it gives the correct color for your car. kdtjb 03-07-2011, 07:46 PM Opps I think you have to click on restoration shop first. kdtjb 03-12-2011, 04:32 PM Had a little time to do more on the 64 moparker 03-13-2011, 07:13 AM Are all oif those yours? Car looks great. kdtjb 03-13-2011, 08:17 AM I don't own the rustang or the 67 plymouth with the torque thrust. The rest are mine. RUMBLON 03-14-2011, 08:30 PM Great looking car and a great job. Nice shop too. roadrunnerman 03-14-2011, 11:24 PM That's a great looking color on the car. 5.7 hemi 03-15-2011, 12:59 AM The lift looks familar. I did the same thing for mine, guess great minds think alike. Car looks bitchin'. Joe Mopar 03-15-2011, 03:41 AM Love the color, looking real nice! Sneke_Eyez 04-10-2011, 01:16 PM Beautiful, just beautiful! A friend of mine has a 67 Fury II that he keeps offering me for $1500, rock solid, just needs paint and a driveline... I'm always so tempted, I just don't have the time or the money. kdtjb 08-03-2011, 07:51 AM I have done a little more on the 64, in between racing % work. Still have a ways to go. The shackles and traction bars will go away with the new rear end. Cut those heater hoses twice and there still too short, ha ha. TheSwede 08-04-2011, 02:51 PM Nice! Stumper 08-04-2011, 06:37 PM Looking really nice. If I may - why did you paint the car in sections like that? I'm not a painter so just curious. :) Ron 73 08-04-2011, 07:43 PM Sweet!! kdtjb 08-04-2011, 08:00 PM Looking really nice. If I may - why did you paint the car in sections like that? I'm not a painter so just curious. :) I am also not a painter. The body man that painted it was trying to keep dust from inside the body panels, from blowing out onto the paint. We cleaned it out as good as we could, but he was worried about what might blow out of all the cracks. Stumper 08-04-2011, 08:29 PM Interesting approach I guess. But hey, if it works and you get a nice finish that's all that matters. Can't wait to see it finished (as I'm sure you are too :)) kdtjb 08-04-2011, 08:38 PM He also said the new paints were making him sick. Full paint jobs were hard on him. He is close to having to retire, from paint related health issues. kdtjb 08-20-2011, 07:25 PM A little more done this week Ron 73 08-20-2011, 07:44 PM Little work? OKAY... You sir have a beauty on you hands there! http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd514/ron19731/ma.gif lewtot184 08-21-2011, 07:41 PM '64 plymouth 2drhtp is probably my favorite mopar. i really enjoy the early b's and its neat to see folks putting them back on the road. Propwash 08-21-2011, 08:47 PM Wow.....she looks wicked! Nice! Sonny Black 08-22-2011, 07:55 AM looks real nice! moparstuart 08-22-2011, 09:05 AM very nice roadrunnerman 08-23-2011, 12:20 PM beautifull job!!!!! like the rims, good choice. kdtjb 12-12-2011, 06:25 PM Been awhile since I posted any progress but I have been working on the 64 here and there. I put 3" pipes on it, it's a little over kill for a 383 but they sure look good Also put the new 65 rear housing and 3:55 gears in. kdtjb 12-12-2011, 06:30 PM Started to put the Legendary interior in, and finished the dash. kdtjb 12-12-2011, 06:36 PM And been finishing up some more under the hood. I have driven it a few blocks, and thats when I decided to put the new rear with the 3:55s in now. Also the folks around town thought mufflers might be nice. kdtjb 12-12-2011, 06:40 PM Some outside trim, bumpers, side moldings ect. 440jimr 12-13-2011, 06:09 AM Beautiful car and I love your shop. 383man 12-17-2011, 11:36 AM Wow that is one super sweet 64 !
