69 Runner 11-24-2008, 10:14 AM I went to a cruise earlier this month and met a kid with a 75 runner
MOBodyman 11-25-2008, 12:34 AM I recently bought a '75 RoadRunner from a neighbor who had owned it for 20 years. I also own 2 '79 Chrysler 300s, one of which had I sold to a friend about 15 years ago. And I just bought a '79 Cordoba Crown Coupe t-top car from another a friend who had owned it since 1984.

rumblefish360 11-25-2008, 10:05 AM No chit, a Crown Coupe. WOW! Nice, real nice. I think they probably made less than 70 of those Crown coupes. Also those Late B body Chargers are some of the most lowest production cars/MoPars there are. No demand for those cars whatsoever when they were new.
I think the biggest problem, besides the gas cruch(s) was lack of idenity in the Chry.D.P line up. There all Cordoba based bodies with not enuff change in metal from the Dobas.
MOBodyman 11-26-2008, 01:56 AM Hoarder:tongueflap:
Hey, what am I supposed to do when they keep following me home?
Rumblefish, I knew I couldn't remember seeing another Crown Coupe. Where do you find production #s on the later Bs? I recently sold a beautiful '77 Fury Sport with the Windsor cloth interior. I don't ever recall seeing that interior in another one.
Dallas
Jonno 11-26-2008, 05:08 AM OK I'll bite, what is the difference between a Crown Coupe and a regular Cordoba that makes them special?
Got any pictures?
MOBodyman - got any pictures of the 77 Fury Sport you sold, I would like to see that.
Thanks
rumblefish360 11-26-2008, 05:51 PM Click here; http://www.cordobaclubusa.com/subframeconnectorupdate.html
And look around, the for sale section has a Crown Coupe for slae.
The most noticable thing that gives away a Crwon Coupe is the Landau top goes farther down the 1/4 panel below the rear window.
In the link above, the C/C for sale has a link to a write up that makes some notes to it and it's production numbers. Below 80 made and sold.
Other things like weird interior or exterior items I'm not sure about.
MOBodyman 11-27-2008, 01:23 AM Jonno,
This car had 24,xxx miles on it when I bought it and 27,xxx on it when I sold it a year later. It even had all 5 original tires!
I'll have to check out my Crown Coupe a little closer and see if there's anything different about it other than the top. I'll take some pics, too.
Dallas
Jonno 11-27-2008, 05:06 AM Wow, great shots! Chrysler sure made some different interiors in those days! All that tartan cloth and everything!
I really like the base Fury's and the Monaco's with the hardtop style and no opera windows, although you see lots more Fury Sports and upmarket Monaco's like this out there.
MOBodyman, if you don't mind me asking, what would a car like your Fury be selling for. Round numbers, doesn't have to be the exact amount.
Did you say you have a '75 Roadrunner? Got any shots of it?
And rumblefish360, thanks for the link to the Crown Cordoba, now I know what one is!
69 Runner 11-27-2008, 09:06 AM Sweet ride. But I thought when they went to the quad headlights it made it look to much like a Monte Carlo
Pastortom1 11-27-2008, 11:02 AM When I look at that car I hear Ricardo Montalban saying, "Rich Corinthian Leather"..........................
........................whatever that stuff was.....................:santa:
Jonno 11-27-2008, 11:15 AM 74 Satellite, got any shots of the cars you have listed that have been and gone?
Specifically the '75 and 76 Fury and the '77 Monaco.
hemi_harvester 11-27-2008, 07:36 PM I used to have a couple Magnums (real MAGNUMS NOT sw) Does that count..
I would buy a 75 RR if I could find a real nice one.
alleyoopmgv 11-27-2008, 08:31 PM Me too! a 75 roadrunner is one of my favorite's!
MOBodyman 11-29-2008, 02:32 AM Wow, great shots! Chrysler sure made some different interiors in those days! All that tartan cloth and everything!

I'll have to take some pics of the '75 Roadrunner. I'll take some of the Crown Coupe and post them also. I think I got $6k for the Fury, probably not enough as it should have brought but I sold it to a friend.

Jonno 11-29-2008, 05:32 PM Just reading up on the Cordoba Crown Coupes a little bit, they seem to have been produced in both '77 and '78. Interesting option package with the targa strap over the roof.

I did a Yahoo search and found a '78 on Jay Leno's Garage site. It states there were 211 made that year. I haven't been able to find out any info on production #s in '79. Mine has t-tops but you could also get them with a regular roof or a sunroof, according to a couple of Mopar books I have.
Dallas
Jonno 11-30-2008, 07:03 PM MOBodyman, you also listed that you have two '79 Chrysler 300's, what kind of shape are they in?
74Satellite 12-01-2008, 09:59 AM 74 Satellite, got any shots of the cars you have listed that have been and gone?
Specifically the '75 and 76 Fury and the '77 Monaco.
I might have some pictures of the 75 and the 77, but we are talking 10-15 years ago that I owned those cars....I will have to dig through my old backup discs of old pictures and see if I can find any.
The '75 was originally a gold color and I had it repainted Ford Blue. The '77 still had the black and white paint and ran like a raped ape
Jonno 12-01-2008, 11:04 AM How did it handle with the 440 in there? How come you sold it?
Jonno 12-04-2008, 04:10 PM I think the rarest 74-79 B -Body out there has to be the '77 Midnight Edition Charger.
Only ever seen them in all white. Did they come in other colours.
Anybody out there own one or have any good photos of this baby?
rumblefish360 12-04-2008, 06:34 PM They came in beige also. Pictures can be hunted at moparstyle.com in there forgotten B body section.
74Satellite 12-04-2008, 08:10 PM The 440 would scream...I could burn rubber all the way down the street....it was beat when I got it though, suspension was shot, I drove the piss out of it for a while and then repainted it and such, then sold it.
MOBodyman 12-05-2008, 12:33 AM MOBodyman, you also listed that you have two '79 Chrysler 300's, what kind of shape are they in?
Both bodies are pretty nice, little or no rust. The seats and carpet need redone in one. It had the timing chain out when I bought it. A mechanic friend replaced it but it still wouldn't start. It didn't seem to have any compression, I don't know if the lifters had bled down or if it might have bent some valves. We didn't get to spend the time to troubleshoot it as he was going overseas on his job.
I sold the other one to another friend about 15 years ago. I had gotten it from an older guy and it was in fantastic shape and ran great. My friend decided to put some stuff in the motor to 'clean it out' and blew the engine. He then took some of the car apart to 'restore' it. He bought every trim piece and lense we could get from the dealer at the time. One OEM bumper and had the other rechromed, the engine was rebuilt and is now 1000 miles away, not sure how that happened, you have to know the guy to understand. 'Loaned' the trans to someone and never got it back, of course. Not sure where all the NOS parts ended up. His Dad was selling the property it was stored on and had me pick the car up. When my friend comes back here from Utah I'll try to get him to locate all of the parts. The interior is real nice in that one since it has been stored inside for the past 15 years.
You could take the pair and build one really nice car.
I'll probably try to sell them all after the first of the year as I have over 20 project cars and I'll never have time to work on all of them.

moparformance 01-11-2009, 11:43 PM i have a decent, project but still in good shape, 75 roadrunner for sale just posted it in the far sale section if anyones interested. its a big block sunroof car. really cool and fun to drive. just not my thing.

7071dartgtreg 04-06-2009, 09:25 PM Here is the '77 Dodge Monaco I won on ebay in 2008:
5517
My winning (and only bid on the car - No Reserve!) was.........99 Cents!
I paid the Seller for the car, emailed him about when I could come get it and guess what..... Nothing, nada. Called him on the contact number in his ebay profile..... Left messages..... no call back.
Then reported him to Pay-Pal and ebay.... Sorry, you didn't buy the "Protection Plan".....
End of story; Didn't get the car, didn't get my money back.... lol
Later,
Bruce B. from FABO

newmexguy 04-08-2009, 02:07 PM Just picked up a weird two door Plymouth Fury, from an Albuquerque salvage outfit.
75 model, two door, 318 2v, three on the tree, and no options to speak of.
manual steering, manual front disc brakes, no air conditioning. But the body is super clean. Better in my opinion to save it rather than it be picked on by vultures and then crushed. Never seen a car like it before.

That would have been ordered by a dealer to have ONE available for their advertising what you could by a new Plymouth for. To get you down to the dealership to sell you a new load Fury.:rolling:

Jonno 04-12-2009, 05:15 AM Hey newmexguy, get us some photos! How many miles on the car and tell us about the condition and all that stuff.
I really like stripper cars. The way you guys on the forum are talking you would think lots of dealerships would have ordered them to get customers in the door, but you hardly ever hear of them now. Likely all driven into the ground.
69 Runner 04-12-2009, 09:45 AM Not so. A dealership I worked at ordered TWO Calibers without A/C. One sold pretty quickly. The other took months and eventually sold for $9999.00

craigp 05-29-2009, 09:21 AM Thanks,
I need to get the top redone next. It had the Halo roof option which is the full vinyl roof not just the Landau type which is so typical. It also has red plastic trim on the bumpers and guards which was also not very common.

Magnumguy 02-22-2010, 10:01 PM CraigP, I just noticed your Magnum has the full vinyl (halo) roof.
If you decide to remove it, I'd like the trim.
