retro 12-18-2010, 07:17 PM This is a pump gas 440/493, roller hydraulic, Eddy Heads, 3:55 gears , 3600 stall. I drive this car to the local track, run all night and drive home. I am still tuning and the car needs some Caltracks and a 950 carb. Hope to get a few more tenths shaved off in the next month or so.

you did a great job on it.
i got a 69.5 superbee goes 11.97 with stock everything,its a pure stock motor. 11.0 compression.
i'd go with a 4.10 gear and a 4600 stall converter to wake that bad boy up.
ozonedepletion 12-19-2010, 09:23 PM looks great in blue with white bumble…..Which edelbrocks did you use? #60189, 84cc or 88cc and did you match the pistons? Love it man..
383man 12-19-2010, 09:27 PM Vry nice Super Bee. Congrats on breaking in the 10's. I am building a 493 right now to replace the mild 440 in my 63 plymouth. I will be hoping for 10's myself. Ron

All the block work and balancing of the stroker kit was done by Hughes and the pistons '' Diamond'' were part of the package and have sizable reliefs machined into them.

Your car already is running a stout number .... curious, what are your 60 foot times?
The strokers that run well on the street really need a decent suspension to get them to hook thru the 330'

I love that car! 11.97 is phenomenal for stock. Is it an auto and is the stall converter stock as well?
SUPERSTOCKRACER 12-20-2010, 05:25 AM its a column auto. with stock converter. motor done by best machine in michigan.
rumblefish360 12-20-2010, 08:09 AM Thanks retro!
383man 12-20-2010, 09:20 PM Retro my best 60 ft is a 1.57 and I average in the low 1.60's. Its all stock suspension with SS springs. I am running the 30 x 9 radial slicks on the street and strip. I know alot of NHRA stockers run the 30 x 9 radial slick and some run in the 9's. So I hope it will still hook but if it gives me trouble I can think about Cal Tracks. Thanks for the kind words and good luck with that swet Bee ! Ron
383man 12-20-2010, 09:27 PM It will hook good right now at decent tracks. Ron

mopar6976 12-21-2010, 05:21 PM You did a great job!!!!!!! What was the reaction of the corvette guy?? Is he willing to sell the vette and spend his money on a mopar now?

The owner of the Vette is a close friend of mine. He ran his best time on the same evening.
I have to come clean and tell you I recently had a 2007 Z06 Corvette 10.62@132 and decided to keep only one toy so I kept the Bee and away the Vette went. The manual transmission are too costly to run in these IRS machines.
We are running almost exact times and many times it comes down to reaction times.
iraqivet01 12-21-2010, 09:19 PM Cool car, and thanks for the posting your video

Not sure what 11.97 you are talking about , but the first few runs I ran it 1/8th mile checking A/F ratio making sure jets were correct. The car runs best at 12.4 A/F probably because I am using the Indy Dual plane intake and the scatter has some cylinders leaner than others.
retro 12-26-2010, 08:20 AM That was a beautiful pass and great car!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks.

Thanks Beezee.
There are no secrets other than 4 hours of dyno time and a focus on HP under the curve as opposed to the peak dyno number. A/F ratio that produces the best HP/TQ numbers was 12.4
Anyway I can help a fellow HP hunter, just ask. I have probably tried it.
