Please Help... Disc Brakes on a 72 Charger

Has factory disc brakes. I bought the car (it had been in storage) and it's an old drag car. Someone had changed the power master cylinder out for a non-power newer kind. Front driver caliper started sticking after about a mile of driving it. Went to take it off and they had the passenger caliper on the driver side and driver side on the passenger side !!!! Ok, went and bought a re-man caliper, put it on the driver side, bleed the caliper and guess what, doesn't work, wont close down on the disc, brake pedal drops all the way to the floor.

So, the question is: Do I need to buy calipers for non-power brakes? Why would the calipers be backwards?

I think sometimes a caliper can be swapped due to hose routing or clearence issues.

As far as the disc vs non disc, I don't know if there was a difference between the 2 applications. IF the pedal is still going to the floor, look for air in the rest of the system,,,, front and rear. I am sure someone else will chime in with more info.

Does the replacement caliper have the bleeder at the top of the caliper when it's mounted? If it's not at the top, you can't get all the air out of the system.

Here is where I am. Replaced both calipers, bleed the brakes and the calipers close down on the disc good, but the pedal still goes all the way down to the floor. Master cylinder is bad and bypassing fluid. The car has had the 4-bolt to 2-bolt adapter installed. I've removed the old cylinder and bought a new on for a 1997 Dodge truck (adapter should let me use a master cylinder from a 1996 or newer RWD Dodge, right?)

Well here is the problem (please see pictures- picture 1 is the old master cylinder, pic 2 is the new on and pic 3 is the brake pedal rod)....

The old master cylinder had the brake pedal rod pushed inside, the new one doesn't.. what master cylinder do I need to finish this?
