76 Doba 02-09-2011, 10:15 AM Who all has one on theres, and what did you use? I'm pretty sure I want one on my 76, but would like to see some others and also hear what I can use. I've thought about using one off a new Charger, but I haven't measured it out yet.
Revhendo 02-09-2011, 10:32 AM For your Doba? There's a guy here that has/had a killer black one. I don't remember if it had spoilers or not. What look are you going for? Perhaps check out some NASCAR archives? Need coffee, just spitballing here.
72Satellite440 02-09-2011, 10:47 AM Why not GO -Wing style or gull wing....Ive seen some crazy stuff but its really up to you /your taste- I like some decklid syles too
Citrus1973 02-09-2011, 04:47 PM Maybe a great big tuner car spoiler and some spoked hub caps...
76 Doba 02-10-2011, 10:47 AM haha I might settle for a Daytona/Superbird style wing
my wheels are spoke wheels....no not really just spoke hubcaps
As for hubcaps, I'm not quite sure yet what I want to do with wheels/caps when I repaint the car. The spoke hubcaps I have on now I've seen on other Cordobas, but I also have a set of full moons with the Cordoba coin in the center. Does anyone know which sets were stock to Cordobas for what years?
I've got another mystery with my Cordoba too. I really need to call the original owner about it (I'm the 3rd owner). I'm wondering if the car was redone inside and out at one point. There are signs of blue on the car like in firewall and steering column are blue, and there are signs of blue paint where the vinyl top was and also along the plastic pieces around the bumpers. The steering wheel was covered in burgundy material, but it is starting to come loose and the dash was I guess painted. The interior is burgundy and the car is white with the reddish burgundy pin stripe and vinyl top. Perhaps maybe it was a screwup at the factory. I doubt the original owner would have had it done because he only owned it for a few years before the 2nd owner got it.
Anyway, how about that spoiler?
Citrus1973 02-10-2011, 02:33 PM A superbird spoiler would be neat. Along with a superbird nose. Make a NASCAR tribute car out of it? I see an ad in mopar collectors guide for a company who makes custom daytona/superbird pieces.
LS-300 02-12-2011, 09:30 AM There is/was a guy I think close to Kansas City that was building "Daytona" Magnums. A quick search here turned up nothing but I know they are out there along with pictures. I think the builders name was Aundre.

chargers777 02-16-2011, 10:02 PM Here is my 78 with a spoiler. Not sure what kind of spoiler. It was on when I get it.It matches the cae well.
deedohaw 02-17-2011, 05:47 PM Hey Chargers777... is that fuel filler on the fender functional?
I LIKE it!!!
David
chargers777 02-17-2011, 11:55 PM Looks only-not functional.
sicksatellite 02-18-2011, 02:43 AM love the "dobabird"..hahaha
Jonnyuma 02-18-2011, 02:51 PM The decklid is wide enough that you could probably use just about and pedestal-mount, "go-wing" type spoiler. Just get the measurement between the pillars and make sure it doesn't land on any creases. As for the carbon fiber NASCAR-lookin' units Magnum GTs making; Right ON! I've spent a lot of time in the garage staring at my 76 trying to figure out the right line. Looks like you found it. I was gonna make mine out of aluminiumium, but the carbon fiber is cooler.
Jonnyuma 02-18-2011, 05:24 PM Theres a thread on the 71-74 section called "Spoiler Recommendations" that has some interesting ideas.
MAGNUM GT XS22L9R 02-18-2011, 06:57 PM Back in the 80's I built a rap-a-round type of spoiler like this one on my
gold/black 1974 Roadrunner.
http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/attachment.php?attachmentid=30435&stc=1&d=1297273639
I picked up a couple of Plymouth stationwagon rear spoilers from a bone
yard and cut them up. Cut the two spoilers so that I had a left and right side
longer. Took the two longer sides and made the Roadrunners from them.
Turned out great, may still be out there somewhere? In the Omaha, NE. area.
Jonnyuma: I will have another adjustable carbon fiber spoiler up for sale
soon at Moparfan.
Supershafts 02-20-2011, 07:12 AM The Gt's came with factory flares, and front/rear spoiler as a option.
There was a company in ca making them along with qtrs and other stuff

_The only body mod factory option was the GT flares, there was a
dealership option of a aftermarket rear three piece spoiler and a set
of funky fender flares. A dealer, I beleve in the Illinois area had these made
and installed them mostly on plain Magnum XE's in 1979 trying to boost slow
sales. Only half as many Magnum's were sold by Dodge in 79 as in 78.
_ These kits were called Magnum Force, Magnums. These cars did not come
with any package like the GT's heavy duty suspension and did not have any
code on the fender data plate. The Magnum Force kits were made by a
company called RC and were only installed on about 50 Magnums.

Note the different (Non-GT)fender flares, rear spoiler, decals and the painted
bumpers put on a base model Magnum to make it look sporty. :)
_Never have seen a front spoiler on any Magnum from factory or dealer
installed, only owner installed? The only Magnum I know of with a front
spoiler was the CC Magnum (Car Craft Magnum) a one off for a giveaway!
This car was not factory built! A company called Mancini racing built it for
Car Craft Magazine for a promotional mail-in giveaway.

I've built a couple of the adj. rear spoilers in carbon fiber like the one on this
Magnum. Plus the custom spoiler pics in the above post.

Yeah, not the best looking Magnum?! LOL The rear wings for his Daytona Magnum's were made by a guy here in Florida, that makes kits to convert Roadrunners/Chargers in to Superbirds/Daytona clones.
Citrus1973 02-22-2011, 04:33 PM I think i'll turn my 'doba into a general lee.
Supershafts 02-22-2011, 05:57 PM The RC company is the one that is out of CA, they make or were making quite a bit of stuff

I've seen that and like it. I also like the hood scoops. I wouldn't mind adding some hood or side scoops on mine too.
