66K mile 318 and stuff

I bought this '76 318 for my Dart, but plans change. SO .....

This is the 318 I bought to go in my 68 Dart Sedan. It is a '76 model and I was told has only 66,000 miles on it, and I think it is out of a 4 speed F body. I haven't opened it up.

I had also acquired an LD4B (with Chry part #) and a new Voodoo 60401LK which is:
Cam and Lifters, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 256/ 262, Lift .454/ .475, Mopar, Small Block, Kit Summit price is $185.95.

I also have the matching springs, Lunati 73949 which are $105.95 from Summit.

Lastly is the O.E. Mopar Holley 4166-1 I was planning on using.

This should make a nice lil runner without being to thumpy for the street. IF someone wants everything but the springs that's fine. I'll be needing this same spring for another build anyway.

$625 for all
$520 without the springs.

Located in D/FW area. You pitch in for 1/2 my gas, and we'll talk about me loading it up and bringing it part way to ya as well.

Yeah, I'm interested in the whole deal. My wife is making me wait untill the tax check comes back before she'll let me do anything, so it will be 1-2 weeks before i can hand over cash, but that isn't a problem. How far out are you able to come? I dont have a truck readily available, so I would have to try to figure something out, I live just north of Atlanta.

I guess you have an engine hoist at your end?

I was looking around on FABO at what others have said about having motors shipped. Seems they're talking in the $2-300+ range. If I get 18mpg in my truck with the motor in the back it would take about $160 in gas, plus at least $40 a night for a room (two nights)

So in order to help both of us, if you're open to it, I'll deliver it to your door for $175.

If anyone else is looking in on this thread I'm gonna be loosing some money on this deal. So if anyone has something they need delivered one direction or the other between D/FW and Atlanta speak up. We'll work out a price so you'll get what you need, and I won't be loosing money. Be aware that this will happen on MY schedule

So what's going in the Sedan?

Inquiring minds want to know...

The Sedan will get the 360 from "IT" after "IT" get's it's 408, and after I figure out what's flaky in the 360. I'll still be able to (basically) pull off the concept I have for the Sedan. It will just feel a bit better when done.

O.k....lemme just get this straight in my head....

Motor+
Intake+
Carb+
Cam& spring set........= 625.00

And I'll pay you, 250.00 ( cause 175.00 for making you drive on the roads in this state where all the people from florida pass though is just not right, you'll need hazzard pay as well :D)

Sound Right?......cause thats a good deal on a low milliage running motor plus extras, and the company that sells the rebuilt engines wanna charge me 300 bucks shipping, plus the 1400.00 for the rebuilt engine, so I'm still getting a deal, plus the setup will be 4 barrel, and will save me some headache in having to buy an intake and carb to convert the 2 barrel stuff i have from the old motor.

Oh and yes I have an engine hoist.lol. But instead of using it I thought we'd go backwoods, and attach a come along to a tree and hope for the best........

Done. Now all we need to know is when. My schedule is pretty flexible, and I can do this during the week if needed.

If you have some big cardboard boxes, we can just shove it out on to them.

they'll break the motor's fall:rolling:

ummmm....sad story is i did that with the motor out of a 65 corvette when i was a kid, you know, the thing is, you would think the oilpan would cushon the blow to the crank when it hit, yeah, not so much, busted the crank in two pieces ......

Awesome then we have a deal. Like I said, moment tax check ( or my sisters payoff from the durango I sold her ) gets here, whichever is first, ( both to happen in the next 10 days) then we'll make final arrangements. I'm stoked, I cant wait to drive her. This car gives me that feeling I had when I was my son's age, and i would walk out into the driveway and sit in my dads gran torino sport, just "cool"........

(I'll say it before someone else does) The crank broke because it was one of those dollar two ninety eight Chevy cranks.:tongueflap:
Besides....since it'll be getting the Holley on it, it can be rolled off on to the 2V no prob:rolling:

Just keep me informed. It won't take that long to get it loaded up. I'll be transporting it on the roller in the pics, so nothing will happen to the pan.

Just remember that most of those motorists aren't actually from Florida - they're transplants that honed their "driving skills" somewhere else...which is why they are passing through your state on their way back to visit wherever it is that they originally came from...

Almost go time. Will be ready with cash and all this week. I'm impaitient ass hell, waiting sucks.

You PROMISE me this thing will run and not send rods through the block and so on right?...lol. I'm getting all emotional over this car for some reason......

Well....I can open the motor up, but if I do that then it will need stuff done. And if the idea is to use it (basically) as is, then opening it up isn't the thing to do. I've never been a fan of doing a top end on a motor with miles on it because of the possibility of ring damage.

IF you're planning on slipping the Voodoo in to it, then you'll need to change the springs (which can be done without pulling the heads) So I guess if you want I can pop the valve covers and take a pic or two for ya.

Soooooo....whaddya want me to do?

So you tell me what and when. I got cash.
