Brake Repair

So I get it in my head that before I can drive the new Mullet Mobile I would have to do the brakes since the car sat for 5 years. Good thing I did. First could not press the pistons back to the caliper. Then the brake lines seemed quite short.

I had the rotors turned and ordered new pad, calipers, and brake lines.
I thought about rebuilding the calipers but at the cost of new ones with the hardware kits it just was not worth it.

Moral of story just do the parts since they are cheap. Now for the pictures.

Your right about the price of rebuilt components being a better value than the rebuild route. However some of that rebuilt stuff is crap and sometimes no good right out of the box. As for rotors, there isn't a shop within 20 miles of here w/ a brake lathe anymore so replacement rotors is what I go with.

A few years ago it seems there was a mass sell-off of brake lathes. One of my friends bought one for $50. Now he turns his owns stuff. ...and he found out it can also cut out wheel centers, so now he takes 14x5 rallyes and makes 15x7s (or any size) out of them.
