Hi,
I'm struggling with tiresize conversions here...:confused:
Bob Mosher adviced me to run these wheels on my Coronet to give it a more Super Stock look:
front: 7/10/15 on 4.5" American Racing Torque Trust D's
rear: L 60 15 on 8" steelies
Now...about those tire-sizes...This I what I found:
7/10/15 => 205/70/15
L 60 15 => 275/60/15
Is this correct?
It has to look something like this (OMG!):

Thanks!

What I'e always done is check the actual dimensions on the tires. Almost every web site that sells them will give you an overall height, tread width, etc for each and every tire they sell, in inches. I use them to make sure the metric size is what I'm looking for. I also check to make sure the front isn't a couple inches higher than the rear, just for looks.
Just in case you or someone else doesn't understand how the tire sizing works, on the old tires, the letter gave the tire height, the 60/70 was the ratio of the width of the tread to the height, and the 15 whatever was the wheel size. The new way is the tire width first (ie, 225 mm), then the aspect ratio, 70 means 70% of the tire width is the height of the tire sidewall, and again, the 15 is the wheel size.
You can also find a conversion chart on here to take metric measurements to inches, but again, I rely more on the manufacturer's measurements than the conversion. The 225 is the overall width of the sidewall, you may only have like 185 mm of tread on said tire. Normally the manufacuter or sales outlet will give you both the sidewall width, and the actual tread width.
Hope this helps

If memory serves me, a 79 Lil Red Express originally came with L60/15's which are a 275/60

Weld Racing Draglites are gone...
Steelies are ordered (15x8), TT D's are ordered (15x4.5). I want to paint them first. The steelies will recieve body color (which is Viper Red) and the TT's are going to be bronze. After that, I will order the tires.
