Hi,

I am looking for 8 x 15" Mopar H Steel Wheels!

Did anyone know anything?

The "H" wheels were not 15X8. They were 15X6. The only factory steel 15X8 wheels I know of are the wheels that (most people) refer to as "Ramcharger" wheels (since they are commonly found on Ramchargers) and the Super Coupe wheels (which have holes like cop car rims) but no bumps for hubcaps.

Flo, are you looking specifically for 15x8 steelies or are 7's and maybe 6's a possibility?

Hello,

@ 69 Runner: I don't know the differences between the Mopar H Steel Wheel and the Steel Wheel, but you are right and I want these in Ramcharger style.
@ Ben: The 8 x 15" should fits to the rear axle!

e.g. this style:

Flo, factory/OEM 15x8s should fit but it would be a good idea to have that confirmed by someone that has used them on a similar car. I would think that it should be fine with the stock backspacing and of course, with the right sized tire. If anyone over there needs a pair of 15x6.5 steelies, I have a couple available.

If you find an extra one, i can use one for a spare for my 78 LRET.

Darryl, I guess you already know the 78's didn't come with spares since they had 7's and 8's on them. But the 79's had all 8's and had a matching spare. To my knowledge, this is the ONLY Mopar equipped with "styled" wheels that had a matching spare.

you probably already knew that

Yeah, but I bought an underbed spare tire carrier from a 1977. My truck is no OEM resto, it is "restified" (restored/modified) as it is upgraded to a 440 and converted to a 4X4 with a 1977 4X4 donor frame. I don't care if it matches the wheels on theground as they are mags anyway.

I just found out that it is going to be a challenge to mount as it also has a receiver hitch bolted on the truck.

I just can't be driving around without a spare and I don't want it in the bed of the truck.

Here is a picture of the truck.

Flo, yes it should fit that application. But just as a general rule of thumb, I always recommend measuring the drivers and passenger sides separately because I have seem more factory off-centered rearends than centered. This is actually a bigger deal when trying to stuff too much wheel/tire under something that only has so much space.

And JFYI, the Ramcharger wheels had 4" backspace

ok, since I just scored a good set of 15x8 "H" Kelsey Hayes Steel wheels,
I'm going to go out on a limb here and also say that they do exist...

and Happy Holidays in advance to everybody too.

I want a set, too.
Can I see a pic of what the front on those !5x8 Kelsey Hayes wheels look like?
I, too am looking for a set of 15x8 steelies that look like H code wheels for my B body.

Does anyone make them in the aftermarket world?

Hey,

this is the best shot I have now of the front,
but they look exactly like the white ones above...
pretty deep offset looks to be about 4-4.5" on the outside.

stockton makes them and is great if you have half a year to wait.
wheel vintiques also makes good 8, 9", and 10" to custom offsets,
( which also comes in handy if stuffing them in a-bodies like me )
not cheap at all, but just a couple weeks wait with free shipping
if you order through summit.

ps - found mine on Craigslist, and seen a pair go for last month on ebay too.

Am I correct in saying the early Mopars took the 10" dog dish hubcap? I want to change my 64' to steel wheels but want to use the correct 10" cap for the era. Do any of these companies make a custom steel wheel for the 10" cap? Im thinking 5" front wheels and 7" or 8" rear. If anyone know which company to contact first it would save me the time of calling around.

Thanks
Mark
