She's looking more and more like a solid car....Way to go William. William 05-16-2011, 06:52 PM Thanks, my friend is doing most of the metal work. He is like an artist with this stuff. Most people wouldn't touch this, Im lucky to know him. roadrunnerman 05-21-2011, 08:49 PM nice work.it seems some of the smaller, out of way repairs take longer to do then the bigger sized repairs. William 05-27-2011, 06:08 PM Just have to do the bottom of drivers door and a couple of little holes and Im ready to blast. roadrunnerman 05-28-2011, 06:27 PM getting that quarter hung on there made a lot of difference. Propwash 05-28-2011, 09:39 PM Quarters.......Sweet! William 05-30-2011, 03:46 PM Thanks guys. heres some more pics. Firewall, inner fenders, and cowls sanded (didnt need blasting) into epoxy primer. Once im done door then I can get her up and blast away. Still trying to find fenders and a hood. William 06-03-2011, 03:13 PM Had to cut out the area and weld a patch in. Had to do same for other side. Gotta love those plasma cutters!! William 06-03-2011, 03:21 PM Pretty happy. Got my hands on both fenders, filler panel, front valance, and drivers door all clean, just a little surface rust in some spots on fenders. Found them out west and hope to get them in a few weeks. Just need a hood now. William 06-03-2011, 03:34 PM Heres a couple of pics of the parts. The door is just as clean but no pic yet usedgoalie4rent 06-03-2011, 07:18 PM Cool car, 71 & 72 plymouths sat/rr have my Fav front end, grille and bumper of all b bodies. William 06-05-2011, 06:31 AM I just hope everything works out and getting them here goes smoothly. As for colour Im leaning towards a red or blue. Theres a guy in town with orange so that colour is taken for around here. William 06-05-2011, 06:51 PM more pics. so close northerndave 06-07-2011, 05:54 AM Go man go! 72Satellite440 06-07-2011, 06:51 AM good job soo far on the body man- :) Good luck finding a hood - were u going to get a satellite or reg rr or the fresh intake RR gtx William 06-07-2011, 07:15 PM Thanks guys. Its been about 2 years so far, hard to find the time and money. Once I get the fenders, valance, hood, and that great looking bumper on it then I'll feel it was worth it. As for the hood I would love an air grabber but Im dreaming. I'll most likely go with a RR and just clone it. William 06-25-2011, 09:00 PM more work William 06-25-2011, 09:14 PM Just got my fenders ,Front valance, drivers dr, and filler panel. Had to drive 3 1/2 hours to get them. One good thing is theres no rot, just some surface. Im pretty much done up to those parts. Don't know why pics are so small, sorry. Ron 73 06-25-2011, 10:35 PM Looking real good! Ordinary i would agree with the hood but i found this one you may want to check out, almost down to bottom of page, left side.. look around for another one, you may find it. Good luck. http://www.buycheapr.com/us/result.jsp?pageid=3&q=satellite+hood&ga=us4&ts=go Here is a picture of it.. Used but $200.00 http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd514/ron19731/2207980394294040_1.jpg ' 72 GTX clone 06-25-2011, 11:36 PM I have a stock hood for a 72 for $150 if you are interested. I can email pics. RRGTX72 06-25-2011, 11:56 PM Progress is coming along great William. What color are you thinking of going with? Keep it up! William 06-26-2011, 05:49 PM Thinking of going with red or blue William 02-20-2012, 09:34 AM Heres my fenders. Had them put in an oven then dipped. Had to patch a hole in dogleg. William 02-20-2012, 09:49 AM The hood turned out great. Blasted a few spots on bottom side. Looks good enough to paint body colour. Last piece of metal I need is the dreaded REAR VALANCE which they dont make us 72 owners. Anyone know of one let me know please. Satellite72 02-21-2012, 08:56 AM Looks great William! fixing to take my fenders off soon and patch them. I was curious as to what you did with your inner fender wells... did you use POR-15 or some equivalent? It looks like it was coated somehow. I plan on doing something of the like, but am always looking for suggestions. Propwash 02-21-2012, 11:02 AM Great Job William!! Glad to see you rolling on her...That fresh dipped metal looks awesome. William 02-26-2012, 02:06 PM Thanks guys. Cold weather up here slowing me down. Got to get it outside, have some blasting to do. William 03-11-2012, 07:25 PM Heres a bunch of parts I got dipped today. Bumper supports, valance, header, hood hinges, batt tray, and rear lic plate. They came out great, theres no way I could of got all that rust without dipping them. Highly suggest to dip your parts, it gets you back to bare metal with less work and all that material you would of used. Only four hours and they were ready to pic up. William 03-17-2012, 03:50 PM I rebuilt these, had two sets. They all looked like that rusty one. Need headlights now. Propwash 03-17-2012, 10:40 PM Sharp!! Ron 73 03-18-2012, 12:04 AM William Looks really good! They don't make the valance panel for 73 either, mine was bad on one end and i called these guys.. http://www.shopmopar.com/ and they had one but i didn't know if maybe i was buying one in bigger dire straights so i fabed the end of mine and went with that.. Bad part is, they know they don't make them also, They wanted $230.00 dollars so its something if need be, id try posting here in the parts wanted threads. Good luck to you. William 03-18-2012, 12:15 PM Nice out, had to set the parts on to take a look (not bolted on). I have not had fenders on it in over two years! This brings back the interest to keep going. Propwash 03-18-2012, 09:28 PM Gotta love it when you get to that point eh? Even if it isn't bolted on, it's nice not having to use your imagination to see what she's gonna look like. Great work William! | |||
