Satellite front fender/nose swap.. 71-72 to a 73

I am trying to find information on swapping the nose (fenders, hood, grill etc.) from a '71-72 Satellite to a '73. Is this possible, or were there too many cosmetic changes between the two different styles?

I got one hell of a deal on a 1973 Satellite Sebring - $100.00. Car is 98% complete, and other than a poorly executed rear quarter panel repair everything seems to be present and in OK condition. Its been sitting for years, so it will require a ground up resto, but that's fine with me. It's a 318 Auto (engine and tranny are included and appear to be original) with power steering, power brakes and AC. I have not decoded the VIN yet.

I could not pass this car up and it will be my first Plymouth (past projects include a '67 Mustang Fastback, '78 Trans Am and a '74 Bronco). With that said I prefer the front end off of the '71-'72 models, and if its at all possible I would like to make the swap.

Thank you for your help and input!

Welcome to the family. I'm sure someone who knows this gen of B body will be better suited to say for sure, but I would bet that if you change the ENTIRE front clip it will work

I have a 71 RR.
Not to say it can't be done but I have never seen or heard of that happening.
Check out www.roadrunnernest.com (71-74 Plymouth B body only site)
If anyone one knows or has done it they can tell you there.

The hoods can swap but thats all I think.

Right. My thoughts were to swap out the entire front clip. I have talked with a few people who own 71-73 Roadrunners and Satellites and they claim it can be done. But nobody I have spoken with has actually tried it.

From what I have been told (and I do not know if its correct) the body is the same from 71-73, just the front front clip (amongst many other parts) was changed. Again, no idea if this is correct as I have mucho research to do yet.

Thanks for the link, I will start trudging through the posts there to see if my question has been answered.

I bought a 69 road runner vert years ago that had the front clip from a 69 Super Bee on it.

I'm still betting "yes"

I have a '73 RR and have thought about this before. But, alas, I have never seriously looked into it. I do know that the '73-'74 models use a different suspension and K-frame setup. It all has to do with the change over to the ISO front end. Does it change how the sheetmetal attaches? I can't say for sure. It's an interesting thought........

71/72 charger fenders can bolt onto a 73/74 charger and vice versa... i am sure its the same with the plymouth brand too as the bolt holes are in the same place.

Anything's possible, but I'm not so sure it'd be very easy. The redesign at the end of '72 was pretty thorough, including wheelbase. One thing to consider is that there's an extra body line on the '71-72 car that's not present on the '73-74. So you'd probably have to swap fender extensions or whatever to get rid of that line (or, add the line in on your '73).
