StrayCat 02-06-2009, 06:16 PM Trying to decide wether or not to have the vinyl half(or 3/4) top redone on the satellite. Originally it was whire with a kind of crimson vinyl roof to match the plaid of the interior, but that color scheme scares me. I'm afaid it will endup looking like a "pimpmobile".But I plan on having the interior redone completely original. So I was thinking of changing the paint up a bit....thoughts?
alleyoopmgv 02-06-2009, 08:39 PM No vinyl!
Dodger3000 02-07-2009, 07:39 AM I like vinly!!
69 Runner 02-07-2009, 10:03 AM When have you ever SEEN a white car with a red roof?
I say go original. EVERYONE will be looking at your car, and you can say "yes, that's the way it's supposed to be"
Histoy 02-07-2009, 11:14 AM I agree with 69 runner. Put it back to original.
5wndwcpe 02-07-2009, 04:31 PM Why do I hear bagpipes when I look at that interior ?
69 Runner 02-07-2009, 05:12 PM Cause you're drinking a bit of Cutty????
StrayCat 02-07-2009, 07:42 PM :rolling:
gregs70 02-07-2009, 08:06 PM I agree that the original top would make it stand out. All white = kitchen appliance.
daredevil 02-07-2009, 09:00 PM need a hot chick with a matching schoolgirl plaid uniform for the photoshoot when youre finished.

I've never drank a "bit" of anything in my life. A fifth maybe....
696pack 02-10-2009, 07:42 PM I too voted for the Red top. If you were going to do a White vinyl top you may as well just PAINT it white as you would hardly notice the white vinyl other than it would just look a little dull compared to the white paint.
I also agree with the school girl plaid skirt picture, maybe without a blouse, Oh, wait, then no one would notice the matching skirt let alone the car.

If only you knew how easily this can and will be done. I have alot of friends that do Ratrod/ Hot rod/ Pinup girl modeling, and they are very sweet and refuse my money when I offer to pay them. And yes, a few will do nudes as well..............
First picture is the car at home, the second is one of Ace Talkingwolf's girls at the rod show I entered my car in last year. AS you can see hechanged the depth of the color of the car for "proffessional photo purposes"
1BLUEMOFO 02-11-2009, 06:06 AM I say dark red with a black top.. Kinda plain, but i like the vinyl.. Just not white vinyl
69 Runner 02-11-2009, 06:55 AM I think I'm in love:love_eyes:
StrayCat 02-11-2009, 08:16 AM I agree dark red with a black top would look awesome, but my problem is this.....
The white vinyl of the seats is in great condition. Not one single rip or tear, just kinda dirty , but still completely plyable. So really all I would need to do to fix the interior up to be damn near perfect is find an upholstery shop that can just redo the cloth inserts of the seats and stitch them to the original vinyl. But, if the interior were screwed, I would black it out, dark red paint, black top, and a Mr. Gasket hood scoop with exposed butterflies out the hood:grin:....granted it would be on a 318, but damn that would look good....
OH and crager classic SS wheels.......oooohhhh yyyyyeeaaahhhhh

+1!!!!!!
69 Runner 02-11-2009, 11:32 AM Any GOOD interior shop should be able to put new inserts in your seats. I use a guy here who does (mostly) scratch leather interiors for Porsches and Mercedes. He did an insert on the original driver's seat in my Six Pack Challenger using the same size thread as original, same color, same spacing, and you couldn't tell it from the original piece when he was done.
Chris-Turbo 02-12-2009, 06:27 PM No vinyl!
Right!

69HEMICORONETR/TCONV 01-06-2010, 08:02 PM I still say Original.
426HemiCharger 01-07-2010, 03:22 PM Why do I hear bagpipes when I look at that interior ?
That's I nice interior. Unique, even if you CAN hear bagpipes.
...also needs a crefully peeled Budweiser label applied somewhere...
...and you need a matching red plaid suit.
BuckNeccid 04-13-2012, 07:47 AM We had the mod tops back in 67-68.... why not find some plaid material and put a top on to match the interior inserts?

Red63440 04-20-2012, 05:41 PM I actually had one like that only it was white with the half white top and the same interior. It was a very clean looking car in all white, interior was a little over the top but....
Larry523 05-03-2012, 11:51 PM This thread is over two years old. But since others have resurrected it, I'm just curious what the OP ended up going with.
