I knowq alot of you lurkers have seen a picture or 2 of my A12 Roadrunner survivor with 1954 original miles but some of you have never seen it.
This is a unmolested untouched survivor which is a 1 of 1 color combo.
F3 green 4 speed fully documented. Everything is 100% original except the repro batteery, i have theoriginal but its dead and the repro heater hoses.

my guess would be since it is an A12 RR,it is probably the only one with a tan vinyl top/interior.

1 of 1 color combination is self explanatory. My question was how was that verified. I'm not doubting it. My Super Bee (not an A12) was originally Y2 yellow, green interior, tan vinyl top, black stripe, black hood scoops. The yellow/green/tan combo was not recommended, earning it the V08 code. But I could never verify whether it was 1 of 1 or not.

You wouldn't want to drive this one much but at the same time you don't want to be deprived of driving an A12 car, so that justifies you getting another one to dive. I'm only trying to help.

I doubt that there is anyway to PROOF it as a 1 of 1 for any paricular reason especially for color combo as there is no factory back up to reference it with.

The car is a great original low mileage car and that should be enough for anyone to make it a stand alone car without having to taut it as something you can't necessarily prove.

However I DO know it is a 1 of 1 car just as all others are....it is the only one with IT'S particular V.I.N. :cya:

bought the car around 1997. it was a local car to me and it stood out in my mind way back in 1969 as i saw it race on the hutchinson river parkway just ONCE. i was a little grease monkey at 10 hanging out with the chevelle, nova guys in my neighborhood.
They raced every friday night and i tagged along with them.
they would drive up to the entranceway of the hutch on boston road. unload me and tell me to go get the slicks out of the trunk.
there they swapped out the street tires for the slicks and then i sat in the grass, and watched all the street races that night.
ALL OF A SUDDEN I SEE THIS BADASS GREEN RR. PULL UP AND IT WAS LOUD.
I SAW THE PROMO DISCS ON THE CAR, HE GETS THE LEFT LANE AND THE NOVA GOT THE RIGHT LANE ,THEY TAKE OFF AND IM MEZMORIZED BY THE STATIONARY PROMO DISCS STANDING STILL AS THE CAR WAS DRIVING. I COULDNT STOP BUT WATCH IN AWE.
SO IN 1997, I SEE THIS SAME CAR FOR SALE IN MISSOURI IN HEMMINGS.
I inquired and he sent me all the documentation via fax.
Sure enough it was rthe same car since it was bought at crabtree motors in new rochelle,ny 10 miles from my home.
i flew out to missouri and struck the deal.It wasnt the smoothest deal i have made in my lifetime but it was made. the rr had 1235 original miles on it and all 3 owners had the mileage documented and notorized so it is accurate.
since 1997 till now it has 1956 original miles.I stsart it up and pull it out of the garage and thats about it.
i drive my a12 superbee the most.i think its a pretty cool story.

Awesome car! Love the American flag on the trunk too!

THat's the original American flag from 1969. He put it on his car right before he left for Vietnam for his 1st tour of duty.As well as the police sticker on the vent window.
The rest of the story is wild. When he returned from Vietnam back in 1973, he had no interest in the car and it sat till 1995 untouched. simply amazing.

I heard but not 100% sure if its true is that AGENT ORANGE had a big part of him not wanting to drive it.

Pretty hard to top that car. The story about it may be as neat as the car. When I was a kid tagging along with the local gearheads, there was an A-12 Bee running at the strip. Bone stock 440/6v,4speed,super drag pak 4.10 dana except that he ran a set of J.C.Penney AF/X slicks. The car was running 12.90s thru stock exhaust. Give it up, Chris ! Have you run the RR at the track ? What did it do ? Inquiring minds want to know ! DK.

They only started as 383 cars on paper as they have the same model prefix in the V.I.N. and are not really a seperate model. They are a "package car." They were not built as a 383 car and then converted. There has always been a lot of confusion with these cars as the broadcast sheet and fender tag have a lot of 383 codes on them but the a12 package code and the M disignation in the V.I.N. override all of that.

It was actually a bit more than paper, as they were in fact originally destined to be E63 WM's & RM's...as evidenced by the 5/16" fuel line. However, I believe you are correct when you suggest that they were not "converted" 383-powered axle package cars. That is, parts were not removed to create an A12 car, rather, they simply were not installed to begin with. Things like hoods, hood hinges, rear ends, etc, etc.

What I thought interesting was the fact that the tire designation under the trunk of this particular car was "F70". Was this applied before the "package"? Or, was this just a mistake by an assembly worker that was used to building E63 RM's & WM's all day? I simply think that this makes an already special car even more special!

Yes and no on a bit more than paper. The cars V.I.N. prefix determined what the car started life as with regards as to how it got started in the assembly process. the options for a particular car determined the rest of the build. Options sometimes included different things on the car when equipped with these options. An example would be the Hemi option that would include different things like suspension and trans changes from the same V.I.N. prefix car without the Hemi option. The 69 M code cars (A12 option package) spells out exactly what the package replaced on the standard RR or SB model it was ordered on and nothing more. That is why these cars are a mix of the 383 and what you might THINK should have been standard on say a GTX or R/T with a 440 engine.

Yes, most likely a line worker mistake on the tire code on the trunk lid.

funny you said that. the guy that bought the car new owned it for 3 weeks and then got drafted into Vietnam. back in late 69 he brought the car to his mothers house. put it up on blocks, drained all the fluids, shrink wrapped it and it stayed that way till 1995.
When the owner returned from his tour back in 1973, he had no interest in the car and it sat for all those years untouched. i think i heard Agent Orange had a huge impact on him.when it was finally uncovered, it had 1157 miles on the odometer.
right now it has 1987 miles or around there.

That's just a great story and the car is really something else. I'm glad it ended up with you. How many people remember a car like that and actually have come to possess it so many years later? That's amazing. Not to mention that a car like that so often ends up in a collection just because of the low miles. This one ended up with someone who really appreciates Mopars and that suits me just fine. I like the Bee also. I've always said that if I could have a second Super Bee it would be an A12. Since I have a yellow '68 that '69 A12 would sure look good next to it.
