1984 318

I have a 1984 casted 318 that has a factory rebuild freeze plug in it. It says on the plug void warranty if removed. It has a factory installed, I am assuming, Roller Cam. Has anyone ever heard of a factory roller in a 318? How do I figure out what it is?

84 318's had hydraulic flat-tappet cams.. the roller cams did not come into play until the magnum engines of 91/92. hope that helps.

I think roller cams started in '88 for 318's

at some point whoever owned this before I got it had it rebuilt and had a roller cam installed in it. I just wish I knew what or how to find the specs on it so I knew what it was. But it is what it is and the engine in now built and ready to go into the car. We will see what it does and go from there. It should be good enough to give her the seat time that she needs and then we will evaluate whether I am going to put the money to build a bad A** 318 or get a 360 and start over. Time will tell.
