supercharged 340 roadrunner

hey guys im looking at adding a roots style supercharger on my 73 340 roadrunner, anybody know who makes one for that engine?

thanx, ill look them up. im just wanting something that i can still drive on the freeway with. not so much for drag. any idea what else needs to be changed? tranny? gears?

what compression are you running? that mite limit you a bit if your running high comp.

i just looked on their site and didn't see anything for a chrysler small block but maybe i'm just blind

Stock cast crank motor? The compression on the stock motor was pretty low. You can add the blower, but just don't boost it too much. To really get the most out of it, you might want to look into Indy or Edelbrock heads. It's an airflow thing.....
I seem to remember a blown 318 in one of this month's Mopar rags. I think it was a procharger or a vortech. I'll look into it.....

im running a stock 340. couldnt tell you what the compression is right now.

ok heres the deal,, BDS will sell you a kit,the intake manifold is made by hampton, this is the hardest part to get,but available, my intake is a very old style offenhauser converted by dyers blowers,with a pop off valve,,works great ,was on a duster that went 10.65 in the 1/4, but i dont know if dyers is back to making intakes again or not,,google dryers machine shop alsip ill,,

you can buy a complete street/strip friendly kit from BIG ALS TOY BOX,, i believe he is in mass or ct,,,let me know ill get you his number if your intrested,,,he sells the best priced kits,,and complete blower motors,,

if this is a street car, and you are going to run pump gas,,unlike the jap tuner cars with tons of boost and computers to control it,,,93 octane will only support 9 pounds of boost,,the boost wil be determined by your compression and your blower final drive,, i am runing 7.76 compression,,and 6% undriven on my blower pulleys and i can make 13 pounds of boost,,,but the reason i dont under dirve it more to make it limited to 9 psi,,i would loose 30 percent throttle responce/boost/power off the line, by the time im seeing 13psi in traffic ide be in some bodys trunk,,,since i have a 4 speed i have more control...

if your running stock pistons,,,cast ??? you may consider limiting your boost to 6 pounds,,and make sure you have your carbs set up for a blower,,,a out of the box non blower carb wil not run corectly or fat enought and you could do damage to your cast pistions,,,

also with a small block mopar only 10 head bolts,like a buick turbo motor you are pron to blowing head gaskets,,,with high boost pressure,, at the least you wil need to use flepro stainless ringed head gaskets,, my set has been on for over 10 years,7000 street miles, you coukld have the block/heads O-RINGED,, that is another way of keeping your head gaskets on,,, i have a mopar over the counter X block,,so it is stronger at the deck then a production block,,but this can be done if properly thought out,,,a blower cam would help also,,,and then there is the lower pully to work out,, i am runing a 3 inch blower belt in an A body,, i ws told it cant be done,,2 inch fits better ,,, ask who ever you buy your set up from what they are doing with the lower blower pully,,and the rest of the pully alinment,,

i use a fluid dampener,that is double keyd,,,had a second ket way cut in to the crank,,180 degrees oppisite the factory key way,,to help from twisting off the front of the crank,,

then i had dyers make a lower V groove pully and mount for the balancer so all the uper pullys line up like the water pump and altenator,,,

this all sounds like a ton of work but its not really,, just do it right the first tme and figure out how you want to use this car,,,here are a few pics i hope ,,they load,,,,sorry this is an A body car,,,not a B body

I'll have to call big Al's as they are somewhat local. My friends father just bought a motor from them about a month ago. Blown 350 small block with a 6-71 on it. Going in his corvette. The car is awesome combined with the side pipes.
