Broken studs on rubber bumperettes, '69 RR; what can be done?eagleone1983 09-30-2011, 10:03 AM I broke a couple of studs on my rubber bumperettes is there anything that can be done to fix them? A new pair are over a hundred bucks, OUCH. oxytousc 10-03-2011, 05:34 PM Easy (or not so) easy outs...not sure I know exactly what they look like though. Or, if there is room, you can weld a nut onto the end and crank on that. BuckNeccid 10-04-2011, 05:47 AM I cut and drilled out the broken pieces until I could get a replacement bolt in place, then welded a stud in the hole. Do it slowly, tack, tack and wait for it to cool so it doesn't melt the rubber 72Satellite440 10-04-2011, 08:11 AM Could use a dremel and make a x or * patern cut w/o cutting into your bumperette and the pound her out- no problem Did this on bumper bolts that wouldnt budge/stripped on me | |||
