Boys I need some advice on rocker arm selection. The heads are a set of ported and flowed 452's, Ferrea 5000 series SS, 2.14/1.81. I'll be using a MP grind .509 lift cam with matched valve springs from MP. 500 ci. bottom end.
This will be a street engine with odd trips to the strip. What rocker arm will give best bang for the buck? Alot to choose from these days...full roller, bushed w/ roller tip, steel stamped...
Bottom line, reliablility and go fast for the $.
Thanks in advance...Jeff

I run the MP 1.5 aluminum rollers with 2.18/1.81 valves, and the MP .590 flat tappet cam. I think these rockers were made by Dove for MOPAR. Never had a problem with them. I also use the MP chrome rocker shafts.

Anyone have any experience with Pro Comp? I found a set of shaft mount units (Red) at a more than reasonable price. The Furd and Chebby guys have mixed reviews. 1.5 ratio, T-6061 Al, said to be good to 750 lbs of spring pressure.

Google "Pro Comp rockers" Appears to be lots of problems - negative feedback on various forums. As far as Indy goes, a prominent Mopar engine builder here in Pittsburgh uses them regularly/exclusively and I don't know of any failures? Not saying that someone can't have problems but that's our experience

I know what you mean. I put alot of consideration on the rockers and was just about to pull the trigger on the Crane Golds when I asked our guy here and he recommended the Indys. So far so good for me, 2 years and running strong.

Me personally, you can't go wrong with a set of Max Wedge adjustables or equivalent. I just bought a set of cranes. Isky makes a nice set too.

I agree with the old ductile iron rockers crane or isky...or if funds allow I would chose the Harland Sharps. Not too expensive and very good quality.
