Malware....Black63 11-06-2011, 06:59 AM Since last week, every time I open FBBO I get a Malware Alert from my Avast Antivirus. Whats going on with that???? Its making me very nervous! 69Coronetrt 11-06-2011, 07:02 AM I got the same thing this morning. Joeychgo 11-06-2011, 07:07 AM on what page? 69Coronetrt 11-06-2011, 07:16 AM on what page? Home page. It happened five minutes ago when I first visited the site. Joeychgo 11-06-2011, 07:27 AM This page: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/ or this page: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/ What browser are you using? 69Coronetrt 11-06-2011, 07:54 AM This page: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/ or this page: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/ What browser are you using? The second one. IE Joeychgo 11-06-2011, 07:55 AM IE - what version? You might be getting a false positive... Is your avast up to date with current definitions? Are you still getting this alert? http://www.404techsupport.com/2011/04/latest-avast-definitions-contain-false-positive-blocking-legitimate-websites/ bigmanjbmopar 11-06-2011, 08:07 AM My avast is not showing anything using Google chrome browser. try tuning your silent gaming mode to on to prevent alert pop ups. also make sure you have the latest version I have 6.0.1289 this is the program version, virus definition version is 111106-1. Hope this helps. Ron 73 11-06-2011, 10:58 AM I use Fire Fox as my browser and Nod 32 anti-virus with help from Adware and never have a problem at this site, This could be what Joey said, a false positive... I have had that happen before and that was the case, its like one is calling the other the bad guy. If you use IE make sure your firewall that comes with IE is disabled IF your using another firewall such as Zone Alarm.. They tend to fight each other and it can show up as a problem maybe picked up by your anti-virus, just a suggestion. Joeychgo 11-06-2011, 11:00 AM Also, Its important, when you are giving something like this - to give as much detail information as possible. screenshot is good, specific page, what the alert said EXACTLY, what browser and version your using, etc. Ron 73 11-06-2011, 11:35 AM Here is link to a screenshot capture ive used for years, works well and will show exactly whats on your desktop screen for any interested.. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/screenrip.html Here is what it would look like.. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd514/ron19731/Screen20shot20FBBO.jpg 696pack 11-06-2011, 12:55 PM I have gotten no such notice. Black63 11-06-2011, 09:54 PM Ok...gone all day...just got back on...NO Avast warning! Figures.... Was anything done to the site to cure it or???? My Avast update is 111106-2 and the version is 6.0.1289 I'm using IE but not sure what version. I don't even know how to check as I've never been asked before! LOL I get it on home page. After I move on to the forum it doesn't appear. On home page the alert says it moved the threat to chest. I'm not as computer literate as I'd like to be but if i get it again I'll try for a screen shot or at least to copy the info from the warning. | |||
