Heater temp and defrost cable install question

I ordered repro replacement cables for the temperature slider and the heat/defrost slider. It looks like one end of both new cables has one or two more rings/loops on it.....does it make a difference which end this goes to (controller vs door)??

I'm thinking not, but just wondered if anyone has seen this before?

The original cbles had the ends with more spirals at the door ends, so that's how the new ones went on.
