1969 GTX Door Jambs

I am restoring a '69 GTX and though I am a long ways to being ready for paint, I thought I should start researching a few things. I was wondering if anyone had good reference photos of the door jambs on how the lower sections were taped off. I would like to see pictures of the rocker area on the car and also the lower portion inside the door shell. Thanks!

What do you mean taped off? They weren't taped off from the factory the door jambs recieved body paint.

I'm guessing he meant where the '69's had about a 5" black stripe across the rockers, lower fenders and quarters. As in "Did the stripe run into the jamb area ?"

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I'm sorry I wasn't more specific. The lower sections of the '69 GTX's were paint black and I was wondering how much, if any, of the black area rolled into the door jamb. Thanks

If you can hang tight til monday I'm doing the floor pans on a 69 X at work, I can take some detailed pics for you if you're not in a hurry ...

Hey ODSVET, that sounds great! I'm not in a major hurry for the pictures but I just thought I would would start doing research on some of the things I was questionable about. The car I am building at work is a long way from being ready for paint.

Thanks Donny. This thing was all there, never wrecked, but was rusty from sitting in the weather since the 70's.

That is a good looking build you have going on there. I need a bigger building!

Not sure how this was done, but would wager a guess that the jambs had a 1/4 in of the black paint on the inside, much like the stripes how they'd wrap into the trunk so when it was closed you wouldn't see body color there.

Still Looking for pictures of the jambs and the insides of the doors. Thanks
