How much for a 69 Coronet?

I completely understand that "it depends", but I'm trying to get a ballpark to make a counter offer.

1969 coronet 440 series, column shift. Has a 440 in it (no numbers, but I do know that it's a 68-72 block, 4 bbl, headers, etc.) Interior ok - good (blue). Floors and trunk not rusted, but body has white spray on it to hide body rust although it isn't "cancer" ridden. One fender, or at least quarter (rear)will need to be replaced. Glass, trim and bumpers are in great shape -- no dings, shiny and all complete. Grill in good condition. I live in Canada and he's asking $6000.00 cdn. Is that reasonable? I know I can drive it home...and would like to .

Thanks for the reply. Is this a stupid or inappropriate question?

About a cool $1.4 million.

Seriously though, on any given day Canadians expect to pay .30 cents on every american dollar, so $10,000 cdn is about $13,000 USD -- or 30%more.

A $6000 car = $7800.00 USD. I really don't want to pay more than 5k ($6500 USD), but that's mainly because I don't have a baseline to start from. Even if it is a little overpriced, as was mentioned, everyone and their dog is looking to find/build their own A12 M-code car. There's a 70 Barracuda near where I live that needs EVERYTHING, but the owner wants 18K ($23,400 USD) as he knows what these cars turn into. I don't think deep down that 6K is outta' the ballpark, but the Ukranian in me wants just a little better deal. The trim, bumpers, grill and glass are what intrigues me as they're all in really good shape and that's the tough stuff to find. I'm going to look at/ buy the car Sunday so opinions by then are appreciated. My gut feeling tells me it's not too bad. How bad DO I want it is probably the real question (pretty bad.)

And don't Canadians always get screwed anyways? :tongueflap:
