Radio....The factory AM/FM radio in my 1974 Plymouth is constantly having to be fine tuned. Everytime I get in the car I have to tune it slightly to keep it from craclking off station and if I drive a distance a way it goes out of tune again. What is wrong with it? Is the radio failing?

No, it's an AM radio, they do that....the one in my 72 Charger does the same thing. And it's hooked to a FM converter, so that really makes tuning fun...........

Thats strange, because it has never done it before, its only started about the last week. The Am radio side hasnt worked in a couple years....but I didnt care because I listen to FM anyways. I have never had a problem with it always left it on 98.9 but the last week or so, everytime I get in the car I have to readjust to get it back on station. The last 2 days I have to constantly adjust while I am driving to keep it on station, its getting really annoying almost to the point where I just turn it off so I dont have to mess with it while I am in traffic.

I gotta admit, mine is not THAT bad, but i do have to fine tune around weather changes and such. It is the factory radio and supposedly (factory)? fm convertor.....
