383man 07-21-2008, 10:02 AM Ok what year and body is really your favorite of the 62-65 B-bodies ?? Is it the one you own ?? I will say yes to that as I love the Max Wedge era cars and I always thought the 63 Plymouth was just very good looking. And when I got the chance to get my 63 I had to sell my Dart to get it but I had to have the 63 Plymouth Max Wedge era car. Don't get me wrong as I love them all from the 62-65 era but I just fell in love with the way the parking lites and front end is on the 63 Ply. But I would love to have another 62-65 B-body and I would take any one I could get. Ron
69 Runner 07-21-2008, 10:10 AM Hard to say. I really dig 62 Dodges. A face only a mother could love. I also like 64 Plymouths. It's the point on the front fenders. I also like 65 Coronet 500s. My older bro used to have one. We've tried to find it, but no luck.
When he found the car, it was still in original paint and interior. Was a big block console 4 speed car. It had (what was basically) a 383 Stage III Max Wedge up front. Stage III heads, STR15 hacked to fit, matched 660's, and a Racer Brown B800? cam. I have NEVER seen anything run like this car.
To shorten the story a bit, when he bought it it had a 440 up front. Then he sold it to a guy in Arlington Tx. and it disappeared from there.
This car was a Coronet 500, baby blue with black top and blue interior. Like I said it was an original big block console 4 speed car. If anyone has any info on this beast, please let me know. I'll try to get a VIN later if he still has it
aaqar2 07-21-2008, 03:01 PM Yep, toss up between a 63 Sport Fury convertible, and 62 Savoy, and at one time I have owned both, but I was stupid and let them slip away!

For me it's obvious its the '63, I have my dream ride and I'm really lucky. At Carlisle this year Mike Buckel, one of the ORIGINAL Ramcharger drivers selected my car as his celebrity pick, the highest honor I have ever received!
I am also VERY partial to the 62 Dodges. I love nostalgia!

No way ! You know they have 2 red 63 Plymouth's in the Finished section. But the 62's they have are so sweet and I love the blue and silver 64's. And that so nice red 63 Dodge. Not to mention a few fine 65's. I can't get enough of that place. I wish I lived near them as I would apply for a job ! :D Ron
Big Mike 07-24-2008, 04:33 PM I wish I lived near them as I would apply for a job !

CUDACOLLINS 07-27-2008, 03:38 PM I love all the '62-'65 b-body cars ! My first pick is the '64 Savoy, second favorite, "62 Plymouth Fury, third pick, "65 Satellite, love the roof lines on the "65 Satellites. But hey,,,,,,,,,,, I'm a little prejudice,,,,,,I own all 3 of these cars !! Will post pictures later.
I'd have to say the 64 Dodge Polara and or the 330 is first. 2nd is a toss up between any other B-Body Post car 62 - 65:yes:
aaqar2 07-27-2008, 08:53 PM Okay, I've decided, a 62 Plymouth rear, with a 63 dodge interior, with a 64 dodge top and a 63 maxi motor with a 64 Plymoth torqeflight, and a 62 Dodge front end. Dang, I shoulda been a politician!

ronlyn426 08-01-2008, 07:10 PM I had a '64 Belvedere post that I wish I's hung on to. So I really like the 64's. But I love the '65 Plymouths too. Come to think of it I really like the '65's. I also owned a '62 Dodge post. Damn this is hard! Ron
thebankerstoy 08-03-2008, 09:17 PM I love ALL of the 62 - 65 Dodge and Plymouth B-Body cars, but the 65 Satellite's and Belvedere's are my absolute my favorite.

OldMoparsRule 08-08-2008, 06:39 AM 63 Polara/330 - We had one about 10 years ago, I wish we never sold it.
ronlyn426 08-08-2008, 07:22 AM I used to see this '65 Dodge run when it was new. It's a real factory superstocker. I remember at the end of the 65 or 66 season, as everybody was leaving the strip it sat by the entrance with a for sale sign on it. My memory has a few holes in it but I believe the asking price was in the area of 5 grand. The guy who owns it now took 12 years to restore it. 64's and 65's are my favorites.
TeeWJay426 08-08-2008, 09:26 AM It's a toss-up between the 64 Polara and the 64 Fury- both I think have some of the best lines of any 60's cars.
Histoy 08-08-2008, 05:59 PM 1964 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door hardtop, Max Wedge, 4 speed!

Yes because I own one
swapdaddyxx1 03-29-2009, 07:39 PM I have owned a 63 sport fury big block (361) ragtop for about 32 years now, but I started restoring when I retired and its still all apart, although most of the work is done. Hope to get it back together before I buy the farm( I am 72 now). Also own a restoreable 64 savoy 2 door, but don't know if I'll ever get to it. Its just a poly 318,but had air, which is a little unusual. Probably a fleet car. Also have several 63-65 parts cars, mostly 4 drs except for one 63 sport fury ht that I have prettty much stripped. I deemed it too rusty to restore when I bought it. For a long time, my favorite was a 65 Satellite convert or hard top, but now I just don't know, I love them all and have a real soft spot for those old hard ugly 62s. There is just something about them.
black64 04-01-2009, 11:33 AM my favorite is 63 dodge but my current is 64 which I also like.

joemac1j 07-31-2009, 04:54 PM My favorites are; 64 Plymouth 2DR HT; 63 same; 65 same and also Dodges of the same years.
joemac1j 07-31-2009, 04:56 PM I have had all of them at one time or another. I also have a deep feeling for my 66 HEMI Satellite in Silver Buff.
joemac1j 07-31-2009, 05:03 PM Also my 66 Charger Chestnut Brown; 68 Road Runner Forrest Green with black vinyl top; and of course my 70 Plum Crazy 440-6PK Cuda; 70 InViolet 440-6PK Challenger (AHRA Pure Stock record holder); and my Dodge T/A with 340-6PK in Root Beer. I have pics of all of them if interested.
Moose 08-02-2009, 11:04 AM I went out specifically looking for a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury when I began my search. I am 2 years into it and i am 6-10k away from completion. Can't see myself with any other year or model..
Grandpa 08-04-2009, 09:36 AM Has to be the 63' Ply's I have one and have owned 3. And like above I'd like another . The 63 I have is a Spt Fury and right now is in peices. Only thing in it is the 426 "street" wedge. NoT a Max but has max rods and pistons. 906 heads for now and Holley st Dominator with a 850 NASCAR carb. OH anyonr nave some door panels extra????
GP
Primer King 08-08-2009, 03:37 PM First Mopar I saw that made an impression on me was a pro-street '65 Coronet Hardtop in a magazine. All I remember is that it was red with a Crossram equpped Wedge churning the big ol' meats out back. I was roughly 13 or so at the time, and the shape of that body nearly floored me when I saw it. It coulda been stock, pro-street, street machine, whatever... that roofline hooked me in, and the funky Crossram with the carbs spread way out in the corners knocked me outta the park.
It took another 15 or so years untill I found myself in a position to buy a '65 Dodge, but since then I'v bought another '65 and a '63. Eventually 1 of them will end up with the Crossram that burned an image into my retinas way back when...........
funnycar65 08-08-2009, 04:29 PM 65 Plymouths just do it for me.I grew up in the back seat of my Satellite. The folks bought in 69 and used it for the family car for a few years. When I turned 13 Dad gave me the keys.I'm 42 now,I'll probably die with the keys in my hand.
Moose 08-09-2009, 09:17 AM 64 Sport Fury

I hope what you are telling us is that you put the max wedge pistons and rods in your 426 365Horse street wedge? I have worked both. We held the ASA record for quite a while with the 426 Max Wedge. My personal car at the time was a 64 Sport Fury with the 426 Street Wedge and automatic. I have had both engines apart. No maxie rods or forged pistons in the Street Wedge.
I am 70 yrs young and have been a Mopar Nut since I was 18. If you need any info on the engines or torqueflite builds, I can supply you with most of the info.

Grandpa 08-10-2009, 08:27 AM yes I put the rods and pistons in the "street" wedge. I have a set of 452 heads I'm setting up to replace the 906's on the engine now. Doing a bit of "grinding " then new valves and springs. ANyone Know where I can order the poeting templates online?
1962dodge440 08-15-2009, 04:02 AM Hi, here are a couple of pictures of my 1962 Dodge Dart 440 4-door. It's originaly a slant 6 car, which was the most selling 1962 model in Sweden. When I bought it I made an engine swap to a 318 poly. I have had the car for ten years, missing alot of trim pieces and the car had a poorly done paint job when I bought it. This winter I started to rebuild the car (with some help from my brothers and father), bought a 413 engine  (which I rebuilt), found all trim I was missing on ebay  and then put a new paint on it. I wanted it to have the original look (sleeper), but lowered in the front and put on 17" rims. I'm going to change the tailpipes in near future, so they will become less visible. I guess one can say that the 1962 Dodge Dart is my favorite 62-65 b-body.
69 Runner 08-15-2009, 09:56 AM sweet. but I agree....do something about the pipes

Just under your pics of all those cars is "Belden". What does that signify? I used to know a man by the name of Belden.
Thank you.

welderman 09-11-2009, 06:00 AM Definitly, the 64 polara first choice, then the 63 Coronet second choice. Wish I could show pictures.
Rolling Thunder 09-11-2009, 09:03 PM I love them all but partial to 63's
bertman 09-12-2009, 03:38 PM As a kid I liked the '50s fin cars and my first mopar was a 56 Belvedere. I like all the 62-65's but my favorite has always been the 65 Satellite.
Here's my first 65 in November 1965. I had to leave it behind to go to war!
http://members.rennlist.org/cnalljr/mini-R1-6.jpg
My current 65 was bought exactly 40 years later in 2005.

Norwoodville Speed Shop 09-29-2009, 08:24 PM Great collection of pics, cudacollins. Especially the one on page 9. Red 64 polara in burnout box w/ modern hood scoop is mine. These cars are meant to be raced imo. You have some shots of some other cars here in the midwest that i am familiar with. Keep them coming.
