master cyl questiongeneraljmwlee 08-19-2009, 07:59 PM Is the master cly the same for a man. brakes and power? If so how do I get the rod out of the master cly? 69 Runner 08-19-2009, 08:25 PM Nope. they're different. The rod is held in by a rubber donut? O ring? Insert? Whatever you wanna call it, it's rubber, and ya just gotta PULL generaljmwlee 08-19-2009, 09:57 PM if I pull the rod out will I beabl to use it on a power brake booster? 69 Runner 08-19-2009, 11:21 PM No. There will be two rods for power. One from the pedal to the booster, the other from the booster to the master cylinder generaljmwlee 08-20-2009, 01:43 AM I have the rod on the booster that connects to the peddle, and there is a rod that pushes out when you push on the peddleIf I take out the rod on the master cly will the mastercly work on the booster or is there another rod needed for the master cly ,or another master cly needed?sorry for the confusion 69 Runner 08-20-2009, 01:08 PM Yep. I'm confused. There is a single rod for manual brakes, and two rods for power. If what you're asking is "will the manual master cylinder work on the booster if I just remove the manual rod and bolt it up" then yes, it will probably bolt up and work. But the difference between the power and manual master cylinders is the size of the reservoirs and possibly some valving. generaljmwlee 08-20-2009, 10:24 PM that was the question generaljmwlee 08-22-2009, 09:34 PM booster redone and on the car generaljmwlee 08-22-2009, 09:44 PM master cly redone and on (not bolted down) | |||
