Can anyone help me with a paint code, or what type of paint to use to do the hood treatment striipes? I know it is flat black, but that is pretty vague. Thanks for the help.

Try SEM Hot Rod Black, or another manufacturer that has the new "semi-flat" hot-rod colors.

They come out a nice eggshell semi-flat that takes wax nicely and doesn't dull or get stained like the old Mopar flat.

You can use black basecoat and mix a flattening agent with the clearcoat, BUT it's a real bummer for those without experience shootin' the stuff. You get the same finish results, but BETTER in that the flatteners don't "rub out" when you wax a bit hard.

Try Hot Rod black. I think you'll be satisfied with a capital S.

The PPG code is 9355 and it's a lacquer with a texture additive. The hard part these days is getting the texture additive but you can fake it by spraying the last few coats dry. I did this on my dash and steering column.

The SEM trim black or hot rod black is a good option if you just want to get it done. Oh, one other thing, the 9355 has a small amount of metallic in it.
