These forums are largely based on relationships which are (generally) formed over time. You just popped in here with a "buy our stuff" post in a couple of places. Even individuals who pop in and post a "for sale" with their first post are sort of looked upon as spam. Sorry, but you did the same thing....just as a dealership and not even as an individual. That would make me wonder if you give a hoot about any one or any thing here except selling your stuff.

I have approached this just like moparts, cuda challenger, and the charger forums, The only thing I see wrong is that there isn't a place here for companies to post. these forums serve a couple of purposes. one for everyone to bost about what they have or don't, and to seek out information for parts or services. over half of my posts in the other forums are sharing information to individual that don't have the right answer or pointing out options or guidence. Only a portion of my post are sales related. With in these post everyone is looking for something. Why not have someone that is proactively posting new products that are out or coming. being that this forum is relatively new exposure is a good thing for all members.

Why you chose to send this both public and as a PM is beyond me. Again, bad form. And congratulations on restoring cars and selling parts....almost as long as I have. The difference is I'm NOT using this (or any other forum I'm on) as some giant billboard to sell whatever I want to try to pass off on people. That, as far as I'm concerned, isn't the paramount purpose of this, or any of the other forums you mentioned. I am here for the camaraderie. And if there is something I can do for someone I will offer. Cause I would rather have these people think of me as their friend, than someone who just wants to take their money. Matter of fact, this is the first time I've even mentioned that I sell parts or restore cars on here, OR on FABO. And I'm over 900 posts there.

There will eventually be a vendor's section. until then, please limit the commercial posts

They have alot of good parts if you are wanting to pay for them. I inquired about a left rear quarter panel for my 4-door satellite and they wanted $500 for the panel and $300 to ship, and it had a rather large dent in it.

I would like to ask a question, I ordered a hood for my 72 challenger that i am restoring from goodmark at the dealership where i work, ordered it on 9/08 still haven't recieved it yet? this is directed to rosevillemoparts. what is the holdup?

Say what you will about him, but I met him last week at his dealership and I think he is a genuinely nice guy that definitely cares about this hobby. He is not just out there looking to make your dollar on his parts, in fact I found that his pricing mirrors the catalog pricing and he even took $20.00 off the price of the trunk floor extensions because I bought them both at once. Not only that, he sold me another item at literally a fraction of its value and consequently saved me well over $1,000 on my restoration and probably a lot more once the labor is included!. Ok, so maybe he didn't start by introducing himself to us before trying to sell us the parts we need, but at the time he posted that I am sure he was in work mode not bench racing mode.

I agree with this statement. I also agree that parts dealers should pay to sell here in the parts for sell threads. Old saying goes "ass, grass or gas, nobody rides for free!"
I think we all want to know what's out there in the way of parts and sheet metal. But for a dealer to come in here and advertize for free, is just plain wrong.:yes:

My case in point was just proven by a "regular" member...not even a business. Someone just joined and made three posts..... ALL OF WHICH were a "for sale" ad. Was in really necessary to post three "for sales" in three separate threads? TWO of those posts weren't even in the "MARKETPLACE" section. That is the kind of thing we're trying to avoid.

to MOPAR 1968. in regards to the Rallye hood from goodmark. They are on back order. They have had multiple issues with their stampers and had to look for a couple of new ones. I would suggest if you need it now is go with the AMD hood. That one is available. just need to know if you want hood pins or not.

my suggestion to you now is to cancell the order with your dealer and order it from AMD. they have it with or with out hood pin holes, Goodmark when I talked to them last week still has no supply date.

Still don't have hood for my challenger, orginial post was 1-2009, still waiting!! ordered hood over 1 year ago!!!

Well, what has your dealer told you? have they called goodmark? What i do know is that they had to resource a supplier which is the main reason for the back order. the AMD hood is available and I do have them in stock. goodmark has slowed down on developement on the mopar parts area. they haven't stopped. Alot of this has to do with the economy

goodmark keeps changing the deliverly date, it isn't chrysler, they refer to vendor for shipment,

like I said, the main reason for the back order is that they had to find another stamper for the hood, With the AMD hood being available they may not stamp their hood.

Well ''Goodmark'' has moved delivery date on my hood yet again to 5-22-09 this is the 6th time they have done this, from my opinion, I will never order from them ''Goodmark'' again, And if any of you do,make sure they have it in stock, if not you may never get it.

Praise the lord i finally got my hood today, one small dent but the body man say's he can fix it, after month's of waiting, please remember what i said about ordering parts from these people make sure it is in stock!! Just a word to the wise!!!

Since Dave has been so helpful and I would now consider him a friend, I decided to stop in on my way to the body shop from the media blaster to show him the "JUNKYARD DOG" project. He has saved me quite a bit of money on this project and continues to give me great deals on parts I have bought for my dads `71 Challenger and my daily driver Ram pick-up.:grin::grin:
