The way we did it was to fit the molding and add glass to the bottom lip for reinforcement.

Once setup, we got a strip of 3/4X.125 aluminum, #8 X.5 ss screws, #8 ss washers, 1/8X.5 aluminum rivits and setout to make it fit tight and straight.

We measured both ends that attach to bottom of hood and the center section of the molding. We cut and fit 3 pieces of the aluminum strip and slid it under the lip of the hood, positioned the chrome strip, marked where the screws would attach it and clamped the strip to the hood.

Next we drilled 1/8 inch holes up into the lip/aluminum strip as close to the end screws as possible then spaced both sides evenly and drilled away.

We spaced the holes between where the screws would be holding the molding strip on the hood. We also fit a small piece to the center hole and drilled on both sides of it.

Once all the holes were drilled we used the aluminum rivits through a ss washer to pop rivit the strips under the botton reinforced lip of the hood.

Next we very carefully fit the molding strip to the front of the hood taping it near where it would end up.

We centered the strip and drilled a hole in the center of the bottom lip 1/64th larger than 1/8th. That would be 9/64ths and used a ss screw through a ss washer to pull the center of the strip flush.

We went L side to R side to the end screw hole in the strip, pushing and flatening the strip and drilled 2 end holes. Screwing it in as we proceeded.

All clamps were removed and hood closed to see and test the fit and alignment, everything was great so we proceeded to drill the rest of the holes for the remaining 6 screws to hold the front strip on.

When done you may be able to remove the tow hook on the k frame and just pull from the hood molding...

There you have it, easy as 1-2-56

Did you do the Plymouth letters and or ornament also? I thought about just putting some chrome backed tape on mine just to get the missing trim line back, might still try it.
My hood is pin on front so stealth isn't an option, I had an extra hood molding an stupidly sold it. I always sell and keep the wrong stuff :banghead:
