This is my 68 I had since 1982. All numbers matching right down to the radiator core. As you can see I have a lot to do! It is currently apart and on the rotisserie.

Rip and roll was standard in this model :rolling: Can you tell it's the original seat??

Last raced at Sac Raceway just like it sits except less rust. 12.98 @ 103 with a factory AVS.

You're looking at it - or at least a cheap repaint done in the 80's.

Here it is in front of my buddy Rob's house back in the early 80's (yes, that's Rob's 71 340 Duster hiding back there). What's not clear is the brown air grabber hood from a 69. The guy I bought the car from had a 69 that he rolled on a mountain road and when I bought this car I got everything he had. Yes, I still have the air grabber hood and it's going on my 69

Hey Alex, You could always get Donny to do a "Custom Diamond Plate" floor board for you, just like he did on the Colonel's Mercedes. I'm thinking about getting hin to do one for my Hemi Vert. :rolling:

Since you brought it up, the more I look at the old picture the more I think I need to go with the slot mags again - except I would go with 15" now. I believe the combo pictured was E60-14 and F60-14, or maybe G60... The other thing I can't get settled in my head is should I go with the vinyl top. To me the white car looks good either way. Also it originally had the black out hood treatment and pin stripe, which will go back on. I got plenty of time to decide. Maybe I'll start an opinion thread for the heck of it.

Another thing I just realized about this picture is about 10 houses down (to the right of the picture) my current R4 69 RR was sitting on the street for sale with no engine. This is about the time I first saw it and told my friend Larry about it.

I would go with the Vinyl top, i think they look great. The BLack out treatment with the black & white would be great. I also would stroke that 383 for some hidden fun.

HA! I've thought about making it a low block 426. Have you done this? Would you just cut a 440 crank or get the 440 Source crank?

What I'll probably do is prep the car for no vinyl top but end up putting one on anyway. Your point about the blackout hood makes sense - the top will just enhance the look. I still like the slot mags though!
