Since the 68 GTX vert is up and running (but needs a resto - and will take place when the other projects are finished) I am currently building two 408s (one for the '69 Barracuda which is 90% complete) and one for the '35 Ply coupe (which is only 30% complete). The '69 just needs the new motor dropped in. The '35 has the rear setup ... tubs installed, 9" shortened and installed, 4 link/coilovers installed. The MII is in as well as the Flaming River steering column. The last thing I did which was over a month ago now was to mock up the engine & trans mounts. Other than that, not much else going on. ;) Oh ya, I just ordered a new exhaust system via Summit for Joyce's '71 Swinger and saved $30 thanks to 5wndwcpe. That will go on next week when it arrives.

Im working at staring at my car till I have some work and make some money.

I am working on cleaning the interior of one of my 1970 Chargers today. It was missing a piece of stainless trim on the drivers window (now fixed) which allowed alot of dust to get in while in storage. The other project for this weekend is to work on polishing and painting two old Vector wheels that I bought for my WHS Charger.....

I am making, from mat and resin, waterproof fiberglass enclosures for my fan/waterpump relay pannel and my 4 inductive pickups for the mag rpm controled accessories tac/shiftlight/procontrol/fuel pump.

Here is what's keeping me off the streets.

Building a mopar chassis street stock race car. its a 73 B body front and rear stub. built at 110 inch wheelbase. it will have an aspen body. LOTS of fab work here.This WAS a straight super late model that was raced last year. it was an old car and I got a great deal on it for what i neaded.

This week I got the cowl cover off and the replacement fitted.
Then I drilled about 200 MORE spot welds and removed the front framerails and radiator shroud.
Monday I will weld the replacement rails in. I got a front "clip" with good rails and shroud attached but the rear cross member was swiss cheese. We tacked a piece of 2x2 between the rails before removing it so we could maintain the spacing. I also welded an XV Motorsports front rail frame stiffener under the radiator to stiffen the front end of the rails.

Chris, that looks like it's going to be one fun stock car.

it will be fun, it is taking a ton of time, but till i get to motor it will not be expensive. Ive been around mopar stock cars since like 89 so this is nothing new, but I did get out of it for 4 years. i found this to be a hard addiction to give up. this time around Im building a top notch car , but will only race 5 or 6 times a year max. it is too easy to get burnt out doing this stuff by yourself. Im just a normal guy who works full time, and runs an entertainment buisness that does shows 4 nights a week. between those things and family the racing is a back seat.

I just pulled the '35 back out since the motor for the '69 Barracuda is going to take another 4-5 weeks to complete. Time to pull the body again, pull everything off the frame and send it out for powder.

Yes they are and I frickin' dig'em. I am going to have two sets of wheels/tires for it. I have a set of 15x15/15x3.5 Autodrags in the garage. I don't have the track tires for the rear yet but currently have Morosos on the front runners.

Then, Frank from Stockton Wheel owes me a set of Magnum 500s (15x8s and 15x7s) but I am going to have him make me a set of custom steelies for the street. Again, 15x15s for the rear and 15x4s or 5s for the front. What I am going to have him do is place the centers from some original '35 rims in a widened 15" hoop. The key here will be to also incorporate the more modern 4.5" center in the middle of the '35 center. A little confusing but what I am trying to achieve is having a 15x15 steelie with a 4.5" BP (and correct ID) and be able to use the original '35 dog dishes. This is only for street use and some changes (ex. longer wheelstuds, etc.) will accompany the use of the AutoDrags.

Oddly enough....I followed that. Ought to look pretty cool...big ole fatties on factory lookin rims.

Well isn't that something. The guy that painted my 69 RR is currently in the process of building a 21' Chris Craft Capri with a Hemi!!! I don't remember the year but it's supposed to be an early production with the bull nose. Here's a pic of the new bull nose (sitting on my RR) that he had made from the original pattern.

Yes, those are bugs all over the rear. It was on top of an open transport and was facing backwards.

Had to put the 74 roadrunner on the back burner for a while. The boss's wife smashed her Caravan into the boss's kid's truck so i had to fix the van and the kids truck. smashed the driver's side door cab corner and box side. Probably should've replaced the box side, but the boss didn't want to, so i had to straighten it. also put some fresh paint on the hood and tops of the fender's. It's a cool little truck so i snapped a couple of pictures of it. I know it's not a b-body, but it's a Mopar.

Uh I have two 63 Imperials ones a daily driver and ones gonna be a mild custom with a bored out 413... Nothing special on the custom except for the fact I'm not putting the chrome back on and filling the holes before paint and shaving the door handles!!! Yeah I'm a kook

Currently doing planning for the fuel system on my 68 Charger and finishing up the harness for the Hemi...

On the 66 Satty I am accumulating the parts for disc brake swap and 11" rear drums....

Put K Frame to radiator support bracket on. Finally have one.
Got set of tail light bezels (for GTX/Sat Sebring) buffed up the pitted chrome and tape and painted black out area. Waiting for screw set for R/T Specialties. They will hide the outter edge crackes in my tail light lenses.
Put washer between rear window crank and interior body panel.

Started working on a '66 Belvedere for a customer in May. Got about another week or two until I am done with it and then it's on to the next customer's car or possibly my '73 Duster or '70 Challenger R/T if either of the two customers I have currently lined up flake out...

It is Eastwood's Malibu Sunset Metallic. The pics really do not do it justice. The color is almost blinding in the sun.

I just put hooker headers and 44 series flow master mufflers with 2.5 inch pipes. I love the way it sounds but need a lil more power so I will be putting a cam and four barrel carb on my 273 next week just ordered all the parts. Cant wait!! I will be using this motor till I track down a 340 block.

Not a restoration in a correct since of the word, but a restification. Will be keeping the original color and the vinyl. After digging through my old PPG chip books I found the paint color that corresponds with the trim color for the top and the wheels are going that color. (Two are painted now, check my avatar.) Will also being doing something "different" with wheel color in the way of stripe for the car. (Stay tuned.) Currently powered by a 360 with a 727, but just scored an A500 that I believe will do nicely with some shorter legs. Interior will be a mix of old and new, with a set of buckets and console modified from a newer car to get the air pushed to back seat. Am also in the works to get a rusty cowl induction hood from a friend of mine to use for pieces to build a cowl induction set up from the original one. The car has been in the family for 19 years now, sold twice, given away once and it keeps coming back to us. The unofficial name is "Bad Penny." Body is clean with the exception of one small hole in driver's rocker, and the left front fender.

HA! So what's with the chicks and the red 71 Chargers?? Back about 25 yrs ago in my neck of the woods I used to see this awesome red/black 71 RT Charger with the louvered hood and later my buddies and I found out it was a chicks car (figured it was her dad's or something). It was a very unusual but welcomed sight to see a girl NOT driving a 78 Camaro! From what I understand she still has it.

Just installed the sound deadener to the floors, firewall and inner doors in the 64 Dodge. This is hard work! Underneath all this insulation is a fresh layer of POR15.

No not really the paint is about 10 years old, the car came out of Cailf that way. It does go well with the car though. I really like it.

Here is what I am currently working on since Rusty became my daily driver. Its a 70 Swinger and I am currently putting a chromoly 8 point cage in it. Then I have to get my Bee ready for the cruise at Grand in Escondido this Friday.

Just put the left front fender on to test fit (door still needs to go forward) and put in the steering column this week.

Thanks 64BEL and Cranky, for your help. I wasn't able to get the Atlanta car. He did say OBO, but he wanted it all upfront. I could have worked with him if he would have accepted $500 down, or even $1,000. Anyhow, I've found one here in Carroll County, and the owner is willing to work with me. I will be getting it in February. It doesn't run but is complete and unwrecked. There is a bit of rust, though, in the quarters, and a fairly big dent in the right front door. Fine by me! It'll make a great "sleeper". :)

Been working on this lately, got on trade. Everytime I work on something I find more rust. Getting close to bodywork now after over 40 hours of just welding. At least the engine is ready to go. Wasnt the worst rust bucket Ive seen, the front half seems solid. I found you can find cheap parts if you hunt hard and talk to people. Theres alot of hoarders around me starting to loosen up on getting rid of parts lol.

Been spending the past few days fixing a fuel tank leak, repacking bearings, adjusting drum brakes(disc's on the front in the next few months) and new back tires on the belvedere.... New headlights, grille and K&N intake on the magnum and next on the list is king pins and steering box on my 49 plymouth business coupe... gotta find a pic of that one, will post later.

Here's a pic of my 49.... all original other then wheels, 12v electric bucket seats (The cars still 6v :confused: .... what was the last owner smoking?? lol) and the flat black paint and stripes... the old girl runs like a top but handles like a wheel barrow! just scored a free 360, 727 and 8 3/4 for it... may put that in while I save my pennies to build the 354 hemi and 4 speed I have for it.

Been working on this for awhile. All done now, time for something new. 512, 5spd, etc..

working on the 63 dodge "440", tank sending unit, awaiting of fron calipers, hoping to take the car for a shake down cruise, first time it would be driven since 1978...

1967 Satellite; 440. It was quite a "barn" type find, sat in storage 25 years. As soon as I started driving it everything started breaking, but it looks pretty reasonable in factory Spinnaker White paint and the interior is in surprisingly good shape (of course the seams are starting to go).

Finally got the front suspension, steering and disc brake conversion done. I don't remember the last one taking this long but had lots of little problems with parts.Remember when back in the old days you could go to your local independent auto parts store and throw your parts on the counter and some car nut would go to the back and come out with whatever you needed? Well them days are long gone. The Auto Zones and Advanced Auto Parts have run those guys out of business and stock their stores with generic trash parts and clowns who don't have a clue. If it ain't for a modern car they won't have it. Anyway I will be headed to the old guy who still has managed to stay in business by doing front end alignments with his old school equipment sometime next week, then time to get the cars cleaned up for Carlisle.

I am working on a few home car projects.
The worst one is my '67 Satellite with a 1966 poly 318.
I replaced the main journal and rod bearings with .10 and .20 over. as well as a Mellings high volume oil pump.
I primed the engine oil galleries up with oil and saw a poor 60 psi.with 20W 50 engine oil.
Everything is getting oiled. but my gut is telling me, I am going to have to pull the engine and replace the cam bearings....UUGGHHH!
I also am rebuilding my 392 hemi-head for my '57 Imperial, replacing the coil springs and waterpump on my wife's '60 Buick, as well as replacing the dampener on my '60 Imperial...

Checked and topped off the oil in the rear end. Added some fluid to the tranny. Cleaned off some of the dust under the car from being in body shop.:angryfire:

INDY heads are great horsepower and torque makers but they are murder to work on and the customer support at INDY is abysmal.

A roller rocker broke, a push rod bent and I need to replace these and inspect the lifter and cam to ensure there was no other damage. This should be a simple task but the INDY heads really complicate the process.

What rockers do they use? So I can replace the broken one and the damaged one.
What gaskets do they use? Intake manifold especially.

Try getting these answers from INDY.

Next up - I am going to be painting a '67 Satellite for another customer. The plan is to shoot it the new Challenger B5 Bluegreat color

i'll chime in here. i've been wanting to take the 6-pak off of my 69 coronet r/t for some time. the past couple days i dug out the 4bbl air cleaner and started painting stuff. i got to painting the lid and with mopar hemi orange paint and the the color is way off. this really pees me off. i can't repaint the engine while its in the car. the car had some torque thrust wheels on it and i bought new steel wheels and redlines (had the orignal hub caps), got that changed. seems like a stupid hangup for such a small change. cars! what we won't go thru for them.

After about a year and a half of planning, I've pulled the trigger on the next phase for the Super Bee. It centers around going from a mild mannered 440 to a 522 stroker. It will be stock Mopar orange and look like a stock 440. The Edelbrock intake is a little taller though. Here are some numbers on the new engine:

537 hp @ 5300 rpm
640 fpt @ 3600 rpm
Avg. 506 hp from 3000 - 5800 rpm

TTi supplied the headers, X pipe and 3" exhaust, which will be modified with cutouts. I'm going with a Quick Fuel 830 carb and a Classic Auto Air AC system.

There will be some subtle modifications that in the spirit of the '69 1/2 A12 cars. My stock, bulge hood is being replaced with a fiberglass, lift-off six pack hood. I'm planning to put on some custom "Stroker" decals on the hood scoop in favor of ones that say, "Six Pack." OE style steel wheels with red line tires will be replacing my stock, 14" road wheels and tires. The new rear tires are 275/60R15s (28" tall) and fronts are 215/65R15 (26" tall).

I'm installing a drive shaft loop, a Lakewood safety bellhousing, subframe connectors and torque boxes.

The next step will be to put on a set of Caltracs from Calvert Racing and install some repro seat and head rest covers, along with door panels.

The engine's in place. Just waiting on a clutch alignment tool to arrive so I can get on with the rest of the drivetrain.

I am currently building a 505" stroker for this.

Mine isint very fancy compared to these beauty's here but Saturday this Ram (97) gets here, if nothing changes, and ill be working on a transmission, The price was right and theirs only one bad place on the body... Hopefully the trans wont be a big issue..

I am restoring the interior back to original on this, it was my late fathers car. This car transformed my dad from a Chevy guy to a hard core Mopar guy way back in 1976.

Well I'm SLOWLY working on my '66 BelvedereII. I just got the motor put together and finally found the intake I've been searching for thanks to another member here. This car is taking me quite a while due to the fact I have LIMITED space. My shop cannot be built due to new city laws so my little oversized 1 car garage has to do.:BangHead: Being married and having 2 young kids also takes a lot of time, as many of you know quite well. Unfortunatly my wife believes she can also throw stuff in there and the car disappears from time to time. Here is a pic of the car after removing some trim and a pic of the motor going into it. This one should run out well with what's in it.

Just finished my first Chrysler 2.7 re-build. Yes, not a fire-breathing V8, but just knowing how to re-build these can add cash to my hot-rod bottom line. I aim to become a pro at these motors. I worked at the factory, and have alot of experience and info on them.

I just finished putting the motor back in my '62 sedan. A link bar between two of the 440Source roller lifters broke and wiped out the cam. When I pulled the roller rockers off the 440Source shafts were galled and the bearings in the tips of the rockers were rough. I ended up replacing all the 440 source parts except the head castings. Lessons learned (again): Cheap and good don't go together.

Hey Joey...right now I just finished some interior work on 1973 RR...I bought a heater control unit and am just waiting for my husband to have a spare moment to help me install it....Marla

i changed my header gaskets to Remflex, fixed my thermostat housing(hopefully), put on a "meep meep" horn, fixed my turn signal switch, put in my RR floor mats.
Still waiting in the wings:
Install front and rear spoilers, swap shifter mechanism back to original and order a pistol grip shifter handle, get a 2500 stall convertor, and find a 355 center section.

This has been a 3 year project. No, I haven't give up, yet...just a few set-backs. But that's car-crafting, right? For the record I have managed to hang onto all tools within my reach...no broken windows, holes in walls or chipped paint! Dahlia Lama, Dahlia Lama, Dahlia Lama...

You may recognize some of that trim...it came off your car! I now know why you chose to delete yours ($,$$$). King of Trim can do some good work...you might have to send it back for re-paint(!), but ultimately they do rather well.

Will have to start a different thread to provide the whole story to this `66 Belvedere II 'barn car', once I am done.
