Yes it is, with some metal flake to boot, when the sun is a shinning it really draws a a lot of people because of the colour and the flake.

Love that Plum Crazy '71. When I was a kid (1985 or so) I remeber one of my dads buddies stopping by in a plum crazy 71 roadrunner. Paint was reaily faded. it was shackled up and had some 10 inch wide slots on the back. I remember asking my dad what is that. he said thats a roadrunner,,plum crazy. Just triggered a childhood memory.

My 74 is Sienna Metallic Gold. It's not a color I was thrilled with but it was a nice repaint of original and was a popular color that I remember from my early age (mostly on Dusters it seems like) plus it's been growing on me. I showed mostly to give ref. to anyone wondering what the modern size looks like with a old style wheel with this body. I like it and it rides better already. Just wait til I get good springs under it. It's a cruiser. I think it'll make a good hwy car. With that in mind I think I'd like to go new Gen Hemi (though it's so original I hate to do that too) ahh, indecisions.

Here are some pix of my 72 Sat as she looked last week. Sent her off to the body shop to take care of the assortment of dings, gouges, mishaps, etc... that she endured over the years. Solid 318 car that spent most of her life in Arkansas. The surface rust on the trunk floor is the only rust I need to address. This was a vinyl roof car, and it ain't gonna be no more, so the body guy will also be filling the seams that connect roof to a and c pillars. Mopar didn't bother filling those seams on vinyl roof cars back in the day. I have posted pix of one c pillar before and after the fix, and an a pillar almost fixed. Should be ready for paint in a few more days.:woohoo:This car has a bright blue interior, so I am leaning toward a blue metallic similar to B5 blue. Anyone got other ideas? I won't be doing black- too hot! An oven belongs in the kitchen, not on the streets!:penguins paint pixi

I vote B5. Love B5 with blue int. Almost the same color. Takes "monochrome" to a new level. Mopar didn't do a fabulous job on some non-vinyl top roof seams either.

How about silver? You see silver with red, but not silver with blue. looks good, just don't see it.

Wow, that's an awfully high quarter seam. Might be evidence in the "are the 71-72 the same as 73-74" and " are the Dodge and Plymouth the same" debate.

We are definitely on the same wavelength about the silver. I've been thinking about putting a silver strobe stripe on the car and painting the broadcast panels on the hood silver. Blue w/ silver accent is probably my #1 choice. Either blue/silver or silver with black strobe stripe and hood trim are my current thoughts. Maybe there is a steely shade of blue that will sort of split the difference. The color of the car posted by 72roadrunnergtx on page1 of this thread is a possibility, and a color you definitely don't see much. Nothing like a trip to the Nationals in Columbus next week to help me make up my mind!
I originally thought the qp's were probably replaced somewhere along the way, but my body guy says no way. Although it has seen a few dents and gouges in it's lifetime, he tells me it is original welding on everything he has seen. No patches or rust perforation on this car anywhere.

JAAK,Nice Rallye,is that he original color?Is it a factory 360,4-speed?I have a '74 A57 Rallye Charger,318 4-speed.
RT

Nope its not the original color or original engine. It was a factory 340 car, and it was originally green. I wish I had the original 340, if I keep it long enough I might paint it back the factory green. Its a pretty rare car, with it being a 340/4-speed, and it was a stripe-delete car also.

Here is my 72 Sebring Plus. The quickest 318 in a Fully clothed B-body in Texas :} Of course no one in their right mind would build a 318 for a 3825 lb car and driver, then go to the race track. But hey 8.50 @ 76mph (best time) in the 1/8th ain't to shabby for a fat girl.

Here are a few Engine pics just after the build a few years back. All there except the A/C and Engine driven fan. If this were more of a daily driver the A/C would have to go back on, but alas all she sees is the race track and car shows, with the occasional run to the parts store or neighborhood cruise.

It is a stock steel hood with the under structure cut out and a home made tin scoop that the previous owner put on. I am going to put an air grabber hood on it.

I think it will look great, I seen your other thread after this, but didn't want to comment in both, This is the first one ive seen with a sunroof on it, pretty cool enjoy it, im sure it will be a looker, black with the red stripes, i have a picture here i got off the internet of a 74 black with red stripes, i didn't want to put it in, im not sure if your really allowed to do it. I kept it to try to compare looks with the 73, i cant really see any difference in them, just looking at them unless my old eye sight is missing it, i did see in another thread someone asking about rear windows winding down so im thinking that changed maybe in 74 where they didn't wind down.. Good luck...

yes, my rear windows are fixed.

for 74 vs. 73
I believe solid instead of strobe roof stripe ( I am still doing strobe I like it better)
seat belt retractors (i had to cut my free 73 SSP interior rear lower panels to fit it)
domed/vent gas tank (expensive!)

I also need to put an emblem or something over the .73 SSP interior rear panels, they have the circle cut out for a window crank that I don't need.
