Lower Control Arm Dissasembly66 Trumpet 500 08-11-2008, 11:25 PM I have evry thign off but the camed socket that hold the torsin bar. I have the factory manual but it dosen't show how to remove it. 69 Runner 08-11-2008, 11:32 PM So what exactly are you asking??? rolling_Thunder 08-12-2008, 08:45 PM the cammed socket (torsion bad adjuster) is part of the lower control arm - it does not get removed. 69 Runner 08-12-2008, 09:01 PM If what you're asking is if the piece that the torsion bar slips in to can be removed from the lower control arm, it can't be removed. OHD 08-13-2008, 07:09 PM If what you're asking is if the piece that the torsion bar slips in to can be removed from the lower control arm, it can't be removed. o yea it can. I got one out with Mr "Blue tooth".... just to see why it cracked... 69 Runner 08-13-2008, 07:15 PM Maybe I shoulda said it isn't SUPPOSED to be removed. A flaming wrench and a BFH can take just about anything apart OHD 08-13-2008, 09:47 PM no need for a bfh with a plasma cutter and MR "blue".... just steel toe shoes....:grin::grin::grin: 66 Trumpet 500 08-13-2008, 11:59 PM Thanks for the info. I guess I will just leave it as is and do my best to freshen it up. I was looking at a CAP products lower control arms, but I already have to Magnum Force for upper A arms and I don't think that the 400 hundred extra dollars is going to give me more performance, just bling factor only. Any tips on how to restore this part to perform better. Revhendo 08-14-2008, 12:09 AM Freshen an LCA to perform better? Use a good Moog bushing and box the arm. Rev. 69 Runner 08-14-2008, 12:27 AM Ok. I know I'm gonna hate myself but....... Mr. Blue Tooth? daredevil 08-14-2008, 08:09 AM cuttin torch haha OHD 08-14-2008, 08:38 AM Yep custom fit a .125 steel plate on the bottom of the lca, WELD It IN SOLID.......then blast or shot blast clean, dip, and go.... as for a Texan not knowing Mr Blue...ahh the youngsters nowadays.... may I should have used "Senoir Azul" :rolling::tongueflap: 69 Runner 08-14-2008, 12:20 PM Youngster? I'm fittin ta be 53 I'm just not fluent in ebonics:rolling: OHD 08-14-2008, 03:59 PM "Youngster? I'm fittin ta be 53" 1955 was a good year. I remember driving around Germany on my Vespa. | |||
