LA engine in early B body/auto trans. flex plate

Hey I figured there's a lot of you out there building an early B body with a later cast crank LA engine like me. My problem is I wanted to keep the early cable shift 727/19 spline trans. in my 65 satellite. I was told by many that you couldn't do that because of balance problems. Through much research and a phone call to TCI I found the ticket. TCI's flexplate part # 102350 is the answer. It allows you to do just what I'm doing. So don't let anyone fool ya out there. Like they say butt holes and opinions are a lot alike-everyone's got one!

Make sure to check the size of your crank register. Early trans converters had a smaller pilot that will need a adapter. Cope or A&A can help on finding one. Yes I used one of those flex plates behind a 360 and a 66 trans and converter with no problems.

I forgot to say that anyone that needs a set of Schumacher mounts to do a LA in a early K frame I have new in the box. Just send me a PM.

I was unaware that there were different pilot sizes on the early and later convertors. The 340 I'm building actually came out of a 72 model car and of course the transmission in the car is the original unit that sat behind a poly 318. My '65 model 19 spline tranny convertor will mate directly into the pilot bore on the end of the '72 model cast crank. I just mic'd it. Does anyone know the different years and pilot sizes of the different convertors? Just curious that's all. And who is Cope or A&A?

Cope Racing Transmissions, A&A Transmissions,(you can Google) As said above these are things to check,, Also input shaft size on trans and if it fits the converter.Things that I found out the hard way. It's no fun having to pull the trans out twice lying on your back. Once is bad enough. Even on a lift it ain't fun. (I must be getting old, this stuff used to be fun??)

This is why I'm trying to find a complete driveline for my 65 Satellite. I never realized that they changed so much during these years.
