This countrys childred seem to get a lot of attention and some get very little dicipline. It seems to show in the later years when they seem to get into more "difficult" problems.

This article just shows the differing thinking that has resulted in the current "status quo".

I can never remember my parents ever "sparing the rod" to keep me from being afraid. The "rod" was always prominently displayed in various parts of the house or I got to go get my Mom a new one from a fresh sapling....

Being "afraid" kept me heading in the right direction, or the "rod" corrected the meandering.........

What a load of shit. What these "children" need to learn is that there are consequences for their bad actions.....whether that is dipping a girls pigtail in an inkwell (yeah, to old for even me) disrupting class, or swapping VINs .....(maybe I shoulda left that out)

You do something bad, and something bad will happen in return

maybe blacks were punished more as a result of more single parent households with less supervision. my daughters were never punished at school cause they didnt want to piss me off.Strict supervision raises good kids for the most part.On another note,I wish I could live long enough to become a minority so I could whine all the time. BOO HOO

The people in Detroit and Wash DC have lived long enough to see it.

They now have steller role models.

Marion Barry, Whatever Kilpatrick, along with "Not my Baby" Jessie Jackson, and Al "Twana Brawly" Sharpton.

Stir things up, get some Govt dough and buy some blow....

While hardworking law abiding people work save and pay the taxes for the pundits to tell them to "give more".

"The beatings will come from me."

Want a fulltime job teaching our "new society" how to do that?

Hint Hint: It may prevent the "teachers" from having to do it....:grin:
