how the hell do you adjust camber on a 73 charger. the top of my tires are pointing in towards the wheel wells and the bottom pointing out. wearing the inside of my steers out like a son of bitch. cant keep tires on the front and drives like shit. could be ball joints tie rod ends and etc but i was just wondering how i could try to adjust some of it out. thanks guys

Yes, a ball joint could do it. If the bushings of the lower control arms are bad, which is the most probable, that would allow the bottom of the wheels to move outwards too. Front end work isnt that hard, just mis-understood. But if the car is 37 years old, you are probably due if you want to keep it. You understand "chamber", so you are halfway there!

its easier to rebuild a complete front end than to chase ghost, ..........if some of it is worn out the rest usually isn't far behind,..................... dont half step.

Are you posting from a phone? Seriously, if you want to keep a 37 yr old car, then a rebuild is in your future. not that hard.

Yep, better to get it all done, it ain't that bad, then get it aligned with two new steering tires and your front end woes should be history

Good eye pal! Its a 53 FLH rigid frame, 73 Shovel motor. Got a 45deg neck with plus 6" in the front forks and 18" apes. Front drum brake, wheels re-laced by me. Switching to disc on the back, but keeping the drum up front for the ole skool look.

All I need to finish it is the custom length cables, and 3" open primary set-up. If you saw the bike in real-life, you would say it NEEDS a 3" open primary drive to look right

In order to replace the control arm bushings you're gonna have to take the ball joints loose. (upper from the spindle, lower from the control arm) So with that in mind, you're only another 4 bolts (and one nut) per side away from replacing the ball joints anyway.

Go for the rebuild kit! But first buy a Mopar Chassis manual P44552791 if you do not already have one. You mentioned that you are looking to learn some about the front of your car. You will spend hours with this book before you even turn a wrench on the car. The front suspension section goes through a bit of the theory behind Chrysler front ends and the rest of the book, although some parts are a bit dated, is full of great stuff! If you are the type of owner who really wants to know it all for your mopar, consider getting a reprint of a factory shop manual for your model. If you are a DIY guy, you will love the manual. You will be freeing up those eccentric bolts in no time! Hopefully they are not permanently stuck. Enjoy! http://www.gregsonline.com/eshop/Dodge/73DSMC.htm
