Two weeks ago while in my garage i find my old Road Runner. Not that its been lost, but just hidden from view. I try not to think about it but it hasnt been started or moved in ten years. Yes you can call me names. Im not the original owner but i have owned it for 23 years. It only racked up 42,000 miles before it found me. And im sad to say i only put another 2,500 on it. From a Maryland salvage auction. To Vrigina, to Missouri, A faded orange Road Runner with a vee in the front sits waiting. The RR goes for $300 dollars.gets put on a rollback and heads to Va. I buy the car for $1200 bucks. And drive it home to Missouri. I have done little to the car collected some parts found a new bumper at a yard $25 bucks, off a yellow RR with air grabber hood. I pass on the hood to much $250 Again feel free to call me names. Well you know the story got a wife, two kids, 115 year old house, a job, and before you know it i cant find the car in my garage. So now with the help of the fine people of this site. Im going to put the RR back on the road. and thought you may want to watch. and i need support and motivation. Its Vin is RM21N0G a 383 4spd 3.55 gear suregrip, bench seat, factory amfm, with p/s The pics i have dont show the front damage, but lets just say its very light. I cant belive that they totaled it. But 20 years ago it was just an old car.

Thats a 29 ford model A. It was on sale i had to buy it. I have a 16x24 one car garage with two cars, and enough parts to build one more, and my sons lawn mowing bus. no elec. all my tools a 24ft above ground pool, an old wood stove and my 5hp briggs powered bar stool. The parts to build one more are for my sons 70 Swinger, and it didnt fit in the garage. Maby i should start a thread on building a bigger garage first. Naaaa.

Thanks guys. It stays light late enough to work outside when i get home from work. So now all i need is a truck load of money, and a bigger garage. The old tin thats next to the bird is a 29 ford model A, dont be to quick to judge, i would someday like to build a rat rod out of it, with an old style hemi sittin between the rails.

my youngest son ian now 9 loves rat rods , so i see us (ME having) to build one in the future . Any show we go to he has to check them out (50's HEMI) would be a must . Some of the gadgits on those cars are reaally creative .

When i got this car it was a totaled:rolling: it looked like it hit a post about two foot high. Missed the hood, right down the middle, broke the grill the lower grill and smashed the filler panel. the bumper was bent almost in half got the lower core support and the radiator all the way to the fan and got both fenders not BAD but bad enough. ouch!! Ive got most the parts, not the filler and both the bumpers i have are bent. Im still looking for the chrome for around the grill. Now that most the free stuff is done, it dosnt cost anything to take it apart but after that.

Got the battery out of the RR, and put it on the charger at work, Its shot. The date on the battery is Jun 93. that battery is 4 months older than my son. The carb is at my friends shop for a good soak and rebuild. going to pull the 383 and tear it down next week. I figured it would be stupid to start it after sitting so long. I know it needs it any way, why risk it. I do know the 383 is NOT original, but it is dated early 70 and is 383 HP with no VIN pad im told its a warranty engine? ill get some pics after i pull it.

Eather way i did not get the little rubber part that covers the hole in the front fuel bowl. and it was bad then, and now it is shot. Any Ideas? Ill get some pics of this and the numbers, Its a Holley carb. and its the factory one im sure.

on 70 columns they are locking so they have an arm out there in the engine bay , make sure the arm is pushed all the way down to the ground . Then your key will turn and come out .

I cant believe that I havent posted anything for over half a year. I should have known that working on two cars at once was not going to work. The good news is my sons Dart is almost in paint. The bad news is the Road Runner has been setting out side covered with snow for four months. Like i said before I can see why its been ten now eleven years of just sitting in the garage. Life sure gets in the way sometimes.
