I want to start by saying I love it here.I have finally found out the brake problem with my 70 charger. It is the pushrod length. When the master is installed it pushes the rod in about !/2 an inch. From what I have read it needs about a 1/4 inch freeplay at the end of the rod.I have also read that there is a way to adjust the length of the rod.If there is anyone out there who can help me I would really appreciate it. thanks

Well, we love you being here!

The end of the push rod that goes into the M/C should have a threaded tip that looks like an acorn nut. You will need to hold the rod with one wrench and make the adjustment with the other. I'd say 1/4" is way too much clearance between the tip of the rod and piston cup. I don't have the actual specs handy but should be more like 1/32" - 1/16" or even less. I just replaced the power booster on a 69 GTX and I had to make a shim between the M/C and booster to get the small amount of clearance required.
