Disc swap question (please forgive me!)

Hey everyone!

I apologize for posting about a topic that has been covered to death, but it seems like a lot of the info I've found pertains to 67's, not 68's, so here goes...

I want to do a cheap disc brake swap for my 68 Roadrunner, using a donor car. I have read the Mopar Action article, but I am afraid in this day and age, and in Southwest Florida, the odds of me finding a yard with any of that stuff is not very good. I might as well just be looking for E body stuff. However, so many have suggested just using something like an 80's Fifth Avenue, and just swapping everything right over onto my ball joints. The article says NOT to do this, since the spindle will be slightly taller, but so many guys are indicating that they've done it with no issues. So, what is the deal? Can anyone tell me for sure? Anyone here done it for real? Anyone have any pics of it? Anyone have a list of exactly which models I can swipe everything from?

Yep, it is a no brainer swap. Some people said the steering geometry changed due to spindle height differences, but it seems it wasn't really an issue. Just re-align the car when you are done. Find any rear wheel drive Aspen, Volare, Diplomat, Chrysler Fifth Avenue, LeBaron from mid-70s on for parts.

Cheap? Go scarebird. Brackets cost $100 +/- then you buy off the shelf (swallow hard) GM calipers and rotors. You can do the fronts with all new pieces for (probably) under $300
