B-body 8 3/4 swap 71-74

What 8 3/4 rears are used to swap into 71-74 B's - I was told the earlier B's are different ?

I know this is an old post,but a '71-'73 axle should fit easily.An E-body axle should be the same also.That said,I had a '77 Cordoba(same width axle as a '71-74 B body),that had a '66-'70 B-body 8-3/4 axle in it.The '66-'70 axle is narrower than the '71+up.The wheels were tucked in a bit but fit well.You can use a wide wheel wit a deep dish/offset too,gives it that tubbed look!
