Finally settled on the M1 with the 850 because it was an easy hookup, but it was fun trying on the others. Now I know how women feel with shoes :rolling:

Now I know how women feel with shoes :rolling: Meep-Meep 06-13-2010, 01:47 AM This is what 10.1:1 looks like in my engine. The Hooker 2" (5906?) are sitting in the engine bay waiting to receive the plant. A little fight getting things aligned but not bad when you have a 3' pry bar and some determination!! I had to re route the rear break line away from one of the header pipes and the rest of the lines and wires in the area I wrapped with insulation. The fuel line goes right by a header tube so that's wrapped as well. Meep-Meep 06-13-2010, 01:49 AM Didn't hit up load!! Should work now. Meep-Meep 06-13-2010, 02:00 AM Borrowed my 383 air grabber air cleaner, however I don't think it will fit under the hood! I hard plumbed my tranny cooler because it looks cleaner plus it gives it the factory look. I also welded up a bracket arrangement to mount it in the factory location. The cooler is an aftermarket type I had lying around and the tubes that carry the fluid are copper. This made it the perfect candidate for brazing on some custom 3/8" steel lines with brass flare fittings. Meep-Meep 06-13-2010, 02:01 AM Couple more detmatt1 06-13-2010, 04:55 AM Very nice work, makes me want to go try on some shoes myself, if only I had that selection:rolling:. Bens69PlymouthSatellite 06-13-2010, 05:07 AM Damn Meep how many damn mopars do you have!!! love the ride and nice work as well, keep it up!!! wannadrag 06-13-2010, 07:16 AM Nice work HitIt 06-13-2010, 09:48 AM Great looking car man! The cooler lines look clean and factory as you said. Well worth the effort IMO. Meep-Meep 06-15-2010, 09:24 PM Very nice work, makes me want to go try on some shoes myself, if only I had that selection:rolling:. No problem! Come by anytime! I take it you wear a 440 RB :rolling: Meep-Meep 06-15-2010, 09:36 PM Thanks guys! I took it for a quick drive around the compound and it seems to do OK. The mystery tranny moves the car forwards and backwards. No mistaking there is a stall converter in it! Remains to be seen how well the combo will work. I only have 4 MoPars...well, 5 if you count my 02 Durango. 68 and 69 RR and two 66 Belvederes - one of which is an original HEMI 4 spd car. 66_B_Body4ever 06-15-2010, 10:51 PM Excellent plumbing on the cooler...nice job all around Meep! Meep-Meep 07-12-2010, 12:11 PM Had a pump seal issue that resulted in pulling the tranny out after 15 miles of driving :fit: But all back together now and so far so good. The 9.5" converter seemed way too loose so I went with a TCI 11" and I have to say it's much happier  Meep-Meep 12-26-2010, 10:27 PM OK, line lock is in and fully tested. I hid it on the firewall dead center near the oil pressure switch. It seemed like a cleaner installation rather than having it dangling off the MC. I made new lines to both sides and had to add one from the original distribution block to supply the solenoid, which is now the front distribution block. I will add that making the new lines would have been much easier to do without the engine installed. The switch is on the column and the indicator light is off the end of my custom billet tach bracket. Meep-Meep 12-26-2010, 10:29 PM For the sleeper look - or just to be funny - I put the original snorkel air cleaner on my 68 RR unsilenced base. Is hard plumbing the coolant overflow going a bit too far?? Haha! detmatt1 12-27-2010, 06:12 AM All right!, installing a Christmas present yesterday?. How about a smokey burnout pic now?. badblack68 12-28-2010, 07:59 PM Do you have any pics of the trans cooler line connections down by the bottom of the radiator? I have one of those same trans coolers here in a box somewhere and I want to copy your set-up. As a pipefitter by trade, fabbing up those lines will be right up my alley. Thanks! Meep-Meep 12-28-2010, 10:06 PM I don't but I can take some. If you're used to bending hard line (and sounds like you are) it's really not too hard at all. Plus it doesn't give the tech guys at the track anything to bitch about! Meep-Meep 12-28-2010, 10:07 PM All right!, installing a Christmas present yesterday?. How about a smokey burnout pic now?. You got it!! Only it's raining here now so I'll wait till it stops. Otherwise that would be cheating. | |||
