I have a 1966 Charger with paint code ZZ1WZ. My local paint supplier can't pull this color up. Are there any other codes that will cross reference?

Thanks

Correct ZZ1 = Gold Poly WZ = White roof Z represents body color. Read the bottom right side. :)

Just to clarify things....1st generation Chargers were monotone (no 2 tone paint available). The "W" code indicates a standard white stripe on the roof edge above the doors running from front to the rear sail panel. Usually the stripe matched the interior color (white in this case I bet).

It's just one color. The paint is referred to as gold poly. What I was trying to say is it has more of a green tint than gold.

Im finding the same, the 66 seems to have more green tint to it...what did you decide?

Could not find it under the dodge color. Was able to pull it up under plymouths "spice gold" for 1966. Same color just a different name. It matched perfect.
The tag on my Nason paint can has
97806 IB
6220
Spice Gold

Different paint companies have different names to there colors.. they also have different tinting methods to come up with something close to factory colors.. they do not get color info from the factories.. they have there own tinting Gurus that spent hours coming up with good formulas..

Finally had the time to remove the 318 poly/3 on the tree, and drop

in a 440/4 on the floor.

exterior colors from the day.. are lead based.. Some of those metallics have copper toners.. .. most that have been out doors will fade big time.. with a copper Toner it will chance out to a green cast.. as copper does. some cars were lucky enough to be indoors all there life.. so they still stay nice a true to original..

Interesting.
