My cousin Pat. He taught me a lot about cars. As a grown up he's a mess but when I was a kid he could do no wrong.

My dad, grandfather and this guy..

The six million dollar man...and a police sgt in my town when I was in 7th grade-high school...and still to this day (i'm 49yrs old now) he was a mentor to me.

Evel Knievel , I jumped everything and broke lots of stuff . My mom used to say stop evel knieveling everything .
I broke so many bikes - miss those days so much fun .
Would have liked to have met Arnold Palmer , and would like to meet Richard Petty .
My dad was a good guy but very hard on me .

My father and older brothers and the 30 odd guys in the MC who helped to shape my thinking on so many things...

Muhammad Ali

May sound strange to some but I was hooked on him as an athlete when he knocked out Sonny Liston. I was just a little kid and my dad was listening to it on the radio and I wa awed. I then followed his career very closely and my awe grew in him as a fighter and a humanitarian for both of our entire lives. I actually met and shook hands with him, had my picture taken and the whole bit back in the eighties. Many didn’t understand him and his global impact until after in his Life. But I got it early and have always held him in the highest esteem. The GOAT!

Funny story about him:
It was 1984 and I was 4 or 5 years old. My mom and I were at the airport for a flight to Texas from Louisville, KY. I got to meet him. He was in a dark suit and had his gloves hanging around his neck. I don't remember what all was said, but somehow I ended up sitting on his shoulders and he walked around the airport for a little while with me on top of the world (he was a big guy to me). He had me put on his gloves and everything. The only people I remember in the airport was us, him, and two guys with him. My mom would always tell people he was a soft- spoken man and had a good heart.

Having fought in the Pacific in WWII I'd also have to say my dad. As a child I always thought that was an incredible feat (still do actually).

After dad, I'd have to say Roy Rodgers.
P.S.
I think his wife was my first crush.

The real life guy, Dad!

Cartoons? Spider-Man.
Hey! A kid from Queens, just like me.

I was adopted as an infant by a couple who could not have children. Must have been Mom's idea, because "Dad" is not my hero, he never related to us three adopted kids as a father (although I was named after him).

Recently in life, at the age of 58, I legally changed my name to a hero I admired later in life: Odysseus, the Greek King of Ithaca and Hero portrayed in the epic poem "The Odyssey" written by Homer.

Yes he was... and let's not forget Captain Kangaroo and Mr Rodgers... it's true!

Hey, has anyone mentioned Bo or Luke Duke??!!
Took the words out of mouth, as a very young boy it was Luke Duke Haha.. he was smart, packed a good punch and was a good ol honest boy.

Nowadays it's my grandpa who served in WWII, what a great man he is. To see him tolerate such an ungrateful, mean hearted wife for all these years after what he went through is sickening.
