Is there a difference in 68 and 69 standard dash frames. If I have a dash frame from a 69 satellite, would it interchange exactly to a 68 satellite or is there any difference that I am not noticing?? thanks

the "special" emblem goes on the fenders.......the reason they put the "dart" emblem on the 1/4 is because it would simply be too crowded on the fender to have "dart" "Swinger" and "special" all together. On a regular order dart swinger (LH23) would have "dart swinger" on the fender and nothing on the 1/4 for 71+ I will warn that the "special" emblem is extremely difficult to find, even I have been on multiple treasure hunts after that emblem. There is supposed to be a cat in Arizona who...

I have one of those too. The swinger special is identified by the vin number and it should start with "LL23". The regular Dart swinger starts with "LH23". The swinger special was intended to be a very low option car for a very economical price. As far as I know the majority of them were manual transmissions although the auto was available at an extra cost. These cars came with minimal chrome trim. Most I have seen don't even have the drip rail chrome. They were equipped with a slant six...

very cool thread to see here. I am a transplant from FABO and I deal with a lot of this type of car. A 68 coronet project brings me to FBBo but this thread makes me feel like I never left home. judging by the dart emblem on the quarter I would guess this is a swinger special (LL23C1) if so that is even cooler. I will enjoy watching this one

yea if you think she even makes sense. Someone like that is just making things more complicated than they have to be. Besides no one is holding a gun to their heads telling them to be cops.....its like anything else in the world. If you don't like the terms then choose an alternative. If you don't like being shot at then don't join an armed service because there is a high probability that will happen.....if you don't like grease on your hands then don't apply for a mechanic job because guess...

I use high quality PPG brand paints ....if a cat can scratch it just by walking on it then I need to write PPG a nasty letter. I have had the cat jump on the cars before and I have yet to notice any scratches.

the pinion diameter on the 8 1/4 is 1 5/8 which is actually bigger than a 741. The 8 1/4 is greatly over looked and one tough rear assembly. They are great if someone is on a budget and are easily found in jeeps and many applications. I am not going to say if it is stronger or weaker but it sure is a reliable one that can take a big block beating and still keep going.

Kinda sad how the E-bodies had so much popularity and now they seem to be playing second fiddle to A and B bodies

I am looking to find and buy a bezel that goes around the rear air switch. Also in the second pic there is something missing, not sure what is supposed to be there but if I can find one I would be interested. this is a dash cluster from a 68 charger.
