No problem!
Sorry if I came across too hard. I just hate the "name your price" game that is sometimes played in this hobby. After a weekend of being at a swap and having experts kick your parts around and basically want you to give them away for free I am a bit sensitive...
Yep the 73/74 cars had an isolated k member and isolated rear suspension to create a smoother ride. The K members between BB and SB were different too and the suspension has large differences from the 71/72's. The body lines also are different too.
You can get solid bushings and biscuits...
A couple of things I noticed...
110 psi cranking compression is actually very low. I am guessing you have a very low CR.
The orange boxes are known to be prone with lots of problems so having a new one is not always a better thing.
I always thought that backfiring through the exhaust was an...
Yep i am pretty sure the plymouth and dodge frame rails between 71/72 should be the same. If not they will be very close.
Just as an fyi there are HUGE differences between the 73/74 cars and the 71/72's...including frames...so be very careful if being told a 73/74 part will work. Some things...
I don't think that's correct. I was pretty sure like the chargers the 73/74 rears are different from the 71/72's too. I do know there is a huge difference with the rear side windows and the very end of the quarter where it wraps into the tail.
Theres quite a few 71/72 sat's out there yet...
Wow does that look awesome!
Now why on earth do people want to go and tear out those rear window plugs and bastardize a car that can look like this! This is WAY better than the standard 73/74 b body vinyl roof where it looks like the factory ran out of vinyl and a lot of extra trim lying...
Leave it! No way would I sink money into a plain jane satellite with frame and body issues for 1800. You can find parts cars in the same condition for less.
I paid that much for a solid driving 72 318 sat back in 2003. I towed it home fixed some inor things, then drove it daily for almost...
You need to be more descriptive. Do you mean on overall condition of the car, body, reputation of the seller, etc? All these play into affect...
I bought a very plain jane solid 72 318 sat from Seattle back about 7 years ago for around 2k IIRC. it was an a nice car.
Yep that's just a vanilla charger...a slant 6 car too
wh23 = charger 2 door hardtop
c = /6
2 = 1972
c = Not sure on what plant C is
The SE had a VIN beginning with WP and had the 318 as the base model engine. that would have a G code.
That's not quite true.
the 71/72 v8 k frame is the same for BB or SB. In 73 they started doing the different K members. He just needs the BB mounts. If it is sb car it will bolt right in. If its /6 then yes a different v8 member is needed.
The more difficult issue will be wiring...
Not too bust your chops but the 72 SE had a very distinctive rear c pillar that was made from a plug. This is a regular charger from your pictures. The SE's also had different taillights for 72. Other than that it looks fairly complete.
Can you post the fender tag or VIN?
That's not correct the 71/72 v8 k frames are the same for big vs. small only hemi and /6 had different k's. We are not tied to the same rules as the 73/74 3rd and a half gens.
You do nee the big block motor mounts though. Very easy to get from mopar or mancini.
The real issue is your...
